Duchess Kate did a Zoom call to thank nurses & NHS frontline workers

US House of Repsresentatives votes to impeach President Trump for the second time.

We’re in the midst of another royal era where, I’m sure, we’ll be told that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are Zooming their fingers to the bone. Since before Christmas, William and Kate have been in lockdown at Anmer Hall. This is after their Covid Choo Choo superspreader tour, after which (no coincidence!) many parts of the UK went into strict lockdown protocols. So Will and Kate are unable to be keen out in the open air, breathing their keenness on children and frontline workers. Poor sausages have to do two Zoom calls a week and I’m sure we’ll be hearing about it for MONTHS.

Anyway, the Duchess of Cambridge did a video this week where she thanked NHS staff from he University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust, specifically the nurses. It’s a nice thing to do and I’m sure the staffers loved chatting with Kate, but most of the headlines today are about Kate’s hair and styling. Ooof.

Her hair does look nice? I prefer it without all of the bells and whistles and sausage curls. A clip of this conversation was posted on the Kensington Palace social media accounts, but I much prefer the full video which was released, Kate comes across much better. You can see that she’s consulting notes and talking points, but she does seem to be engaged in the conversation. It’s also notable to see… um, where in Anmer Hall these Zoom calls are taking place. The Cambridges really are keen to copy that other couple, you know? Kate especially liked the couch set-up that Meghan was using for her videos and Zoom calls.

Last week, the Cambridges did another Zoom call to launch a Bereavement support line. This video is poorly edited, my God. Good cause, but yeesh.

    Whose listening to this?

    • Elizabeth Regina says:

Duchess of cosplaying strikes again, hair, suit, plant, pillows and all.

      • Gruey says:

I gasped. SHOCKINGLY Meghan. You would think she’d avoid imitating MM because her fans hate Meghan so you’d think she’d try to anti-Meghan more in her fashion

      • My Two Cents says:

Me, too! I totally thought it was Meghan. Ironically, it’s the best Kate’s looked in a while with that sleek, side-parted hair

      • Becks1 says:

I gasped too. the setting, the hair, the clothes – she couldnt be more obvious if she tried. Its sad at this point.

      • Digital Unicorn says:

Oh yes – its obvious and frankly quite sad. She really is threatened by Meghan.

      • one of the Marys says:

Count me among the shocked, I too did a double take when I scrolled along, my God, do they think no one outside Britain will notice, this is downright creepy

      • Becks1 says:

I would love for someone to put together a slideshow of Kate’s zooms and how they have morphed into such blatant replicas of Meghan’s “zoom room.” It’s like every time there’s a little bit more, a little bit more, a little more, and then we have this one- bam! Full fledged replica, right down to the hair.

      • Lyds says:

THIS and everything everyone else is saying. How hard would it be to just change up the color of the blazer or shirt? I recall Kate wearing very little black (she wouldn’t even do it to support women when the occasion called for it) aside from their remembrance event. Suddenly the black and white all the time is just another instance of SWFing, plain as black and white.

      • Nina Simone says:

It’d be funny if it wasn’t sad. I immediately saw “Meghan.” Hair, white button up, suit, couch. It’s insane. You hate me but wanna be me…just shows that jealously comes from a place of inadequacy.

      • Nina Simone says:

@lyds totally! I vaguely remember the BP disparaging Meg for wearing black. For me,
It only made sense plus her style is classic and minimalist plus black is chic.

      • Cheezypuff says:

Would Meghan ever have her shirt collar sticking out of her blazer collar on purpose? Definitely a better Kate look but she always manages to dress 20 years older than she is. Her face looks full and he make up is much improved though. And hey, at least it isn’t yet another printed prairie dress. I do love watching Meghan change the zoom looks and then Kate copying weeks later. And apparently that’s the Queen’s place so Kate’s people took the time to put up staged photos of kate before this ten minute call.

      • Harper says:

I’m picturing her walking around Sandringham with her laptop until she finds a room that’s California-neutral enough to Zoom in.

      • Amy Too says:

Especially watching the video on my phone where it’s smaller… I could very easily mistake her for Meghan. The way the hair is parted and styled, the shape and color of the blazer. The background. It was uncanny. The thing that really gives her away is her horrible posture. She is hunched over and slumped so far forward, it looks physically painful to me. I want to come up behind her and pull her shoulder back like I do to my husband and son when they’re sitting at the computer.

Also, she’s really blurry. Everyone else in the video is very crisp and clear, and then Kate is over there looking like she’s using a 15 year old computer with really crappy webcam.

      • Sid says:

Apparently there was a current or former KP employee on twitter claiming to be a university student writing a dissertation and soliciting the Sussex Squad for help by asking for volunteers to fill out a questionnaire on why and what they like about Meghan. One of the Squad people got suspicious, did some checking, and found the KP connection via linkedin. The alleged student then deleted all traces of KP from her linkedin. Bizarre to say the least.

    • Madelaine says:

CoypyKate has struck again: no personality, no charisma, no recognizable identity and body language aside from the beauty props and skin-deep compassionate gestures she borrows from Meghan Markle. Annoying, vapid person.

      • kelleybelle says:

She peppers her speech far too frequently with “you know” and I find it lame and irksome. I transcribe audio files for a living and it’s as annoying as people who say “like” in front of everything. “I’m – a huge, huge thank you.” She looks relieved to be finished. I wish she would project her voice more?

      • Bibi says:

By the way, I think Kate’s trying to go for the sexy look with a plunging shirt. We always see with grandmother styling, frigid style, no sex kinda vibe, round necks, clown ruffles up to her ears, wo we’re steering more sexy – like Meghan. …again.
        meghan’s zoom hair
        meghan’s living room decor
        meghan’s pants
        meghan’s suits
        meghan’s sexiness
        meghan
        meghan
        meghan
        meghaaaaaaannnnn!!!!!!

      • Mika says:

        Bibi,
I would add that Kate used to go for a sexy look her first few years. Her problem was that she couldn’t balance sexy and work appropriate so she kept flashing the Royal Biscuit everywhere she went. Eventually she was told to get her act together and she over corrected to this matronly style. Now she has a good example of how to be sexy yet professional in Meghan.

    • Bibi says:

I have nothing against zooming to thank the NHS – they can do it 150 times a week, but frankly this is old. Very sad they they really have nothing else on their lineup… It must be hard. I mean it’s getting harder and harder to be lazy.

  2. Kitty says:

Its great that she is thanking them….

    • The Duchess says:

Let’s be honest, anybody can mumble a simple ‘thank you’ to key workers. If anything, the majority of people on earth can do it better than Duchess Mumbles here.

    • Aphra says:

She makes me so uncomfortable when I heard her speak; she is clearly so nervous!

      • My Two Cents says:

I thought so, too. She just isn’t prepared and then mumbles and stumbles her way through moderating the session. Awkward looks down… and then she gets all this praise all the time, it makes me so angry

    • Sid says:

It would have been even better if she and her husband had postponed the train tour, thereby ensuring not to increase the NHS workload with potential COVID spreading crowds.

  3. Elizabeth says:

Hmmmm whose hair does that look like?

  4. Elizabeth says:

Hmmmm whose hair does that look like?

  5. Nic says:

I’m not even trying to throw shade, I’m genuinely asking dedicated royal fashion watchers: did Kate ever wear a blazer with a plain white shirt before Meghan? I can’t remember a single instance.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

This looks like her early dating years style. She wore lots of button down styles like this with blazers, but less professional/tailored looking.
Same with the hair and makeup being from her dating years.

      • Gruey says:

Tweedy riding blazers (what did y’all call it, Sloane Rangers?) is in a different universe from the black business suit with a white blouse that’s all but a trademark of MM’s.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

        Gruey
I know the pics you’re referencing. She had other blazers. Lots of uni days she had a cuter more casual style.

      • Becks1 says:

she did use to wear more blazers, but definitely of a more casual style – like blazer with a button down and jeans or something. Not this style.

      • CuriousCole says:

Wiglet, I miss her early wardrobe, she knew how to dress then. That fashion sense crashed into flaming debris around the time she had George.

    • Sequinedheart says:

      I don’t recall – no.
      This is MM all over.

  6. Wiglet Watcher says:

How kind the Duchess had her staff set up notes and a laptop for a zoom meeting to thank frontline workers with words.

No frontline worker needs words anymore. They’re tired and frustrated. Their health is suffering. They need donations. They need rest. They need healthy food in the break rooms that you can grab and leave because no one takes a full break.

Kate could do better. She just doesn’t care to.

    • Aphra says:

Painful that she couldn’t even BEGIN her remarks without constantly glancing at her notes. (“Thank you -glance glance — for working so hard for –glance — these many months — glance glance stumble — really since the beginning of the — glance — pandemic”)

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

That last part gets me. The world was well into the pandemic by this time last year, but frontline workers were getting briefed about this storm approaching a few months before. Work didn’t begin as soon as the pandemic cases hit. It began as soon as news leaked from China.

The work frontline workers put in goes beyond the understanding of her and her staff.

  7. Oatmeal says:

So basically by virtue of this video, its proven that the Covid Choo choo tour could have been an email

    • CuriousCole says:

YES! That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the headline. I’m disgusted with them.

    • Amy Too says:

When the man in the top right corner was talking, he mentioned how important it was to set a good example, and I thought he was going to mention mask wearing and social distancing and how important that is, and I was wondering if that was meant to be a subtle dig at the Cambridges for not modeling good behavior and masking, but then he finished his thought and it was more about modeling good patient care behavior for the new nurses. Though perhaps it was his round about way of bringing up how important it is for the people who are in the more visible, senior positions in any company/“firm” to model good pandemic behavior to those who look up to them.

  8. schlussel says:

is the sudden appearance of gargantuan houseplants another way Kate is SWFing Meghan?

I also cannot get over her garbled opener in the Twitter video for the bereavement support line…. how and why would you make that the first 5 seconds of the video?!

    • L84Tea says:

It reminds me of that episode of The Office when Michael called a member of the press to come to write a story about their screw up with an inappropriate watermark that went out on all their paper. Dwight starts moving plants all over the place trying to create appeal. That’s what I picture happening there before she Zooms. Placing plants and objects and pillows in all the right places to make it look “just so”. Except it looks staged to me.

      • schlussel says:

yes! or even the scene in Marriage Story where the husband stages his temporary flat (complete with pot plants) as the ‘perfect home’ for the social worker’s visit. so painfully transparent.

      • Christine says:

YES!!!! I am dying of the laughing.

  9. Melissa says:

I saw on Twitter that this is actually a room in Sandringham House that the Queen is allowing them to use for their “work”. https://twitter.com/RE_DailyMail/status/1352388895103725571?s=20

    • Becks1 says:

I saw that too and honestly that is even stranger to me. Why are they going to sandringham to work?

      • Nic919 says:

Wild guess is that they are having difficulties being in the same house for this long. They already had a zoom setup at Amner so it’s truly mind boggling to drive to another private residence to film a zoom call.

Also where are we at? Two or three zoom calls for the entire month for Kate? This is pathetic.

      • anotherlily says:

That struck me as odd too. Anmer Hall is huge. I wondered if she’s been seen going into Sandringham House and ‘work purposes’ would be a justification under the covid rules. Perhaps the Wessexes are in residence there and the two families are getting together in ways that could look like breaking the rules, again. Or, maybe she’s having afternoon tea with a handsome RPO. (like Princess Anne).

From the photos, including the one with William, the room could be the Solarium at Anmer Hall. The previous occupants published many photos of the interior and these were featured extensively in the press when renovations were being carried out for the Cambridges. It seems Carole had considerable influence with the interior design and there were some snooty references to her taste. Putting decorative china plates on the walls was one supposedly lower class feature. Plates can be seen behind them in the joint photo, possibly reflected in a mirror. The solarium appears to have an adjoining kitchen which would be a natural place for the wall plates. It would also explain the plants.

      • Becks1 says:

Oh also if they are at Sandringham – they brought over pictures of the Cambridges to display in the background of the zoom? that’s another level of weird, right? I’m sure those pictures arent normally on display there.

      • Amy Too says:

I wonder if someone has covid again and has to isolate so they’re living separately?

  10. Noki says:

I dont know where to place her and Williams Single White Femaling of Meghan
    1) They actually dont realise their doing it.
    2) They passively aggresively think they are taunting hee.
    3) They are so bland and without their own ideas someone on their team encourages this obvious SWF behaviour.

    • Lemons says:

I would say number 3. Left to their own devices, they fail extraordinarily. Kate has terrible fashion when she wants to shine, neither one is able to make impactful statements. Her team would be wise to see what works with Meghan and to try and imitate, but merely looking like someone doesn’t guarantee the same success.

For example, the Sussexes’ send meals to give thanks. These idiots are still zooming with people as IF they really care or that tangibly changes anything. So even if the video was clear, the decor were amazing and Kate was eloquent, at this point, it’s old news and we don’t care.

      • Wiglet Watcher says:

Sending a meal costs money and can’t be tallied as a work engagement. So… no point for them to do that. It doesn’t help them.

    • L84Tea says:

      I definitely say #3.

  11. Lyn says:

I actually like that she is blatantly copying Meghan.

Imagine cosigning and benefiting from the vilification of another woman in everything she did, only to accede and start copying everything about her because you now realise that she resonates with people. And it not working so far because you are not her. It’s funny and serves them right.

She should keep trying who knows she might succeed by osmosis and people are gullible these days.

  12. Beth says:

Looks like the blur and smooth filter is a little overdone. Glad she finally stopped with the sausage curls though, she should send Meg a thank you note for the inspiration.

    • Susan says:

That’s what I came here to say! I kind of missed the new hair and SWFing of MM because the filter was making me think I accidentally took some acid with my vitamins today. Sheesh! Am I the only one that finds excessive filtering…cringey? What is she, a 20 something instagram influencer? LOL.

      • Beth says:

It’s definitely cringeworthy, heavy blur is the kind of whiff of desperation I usually associate with Real Housewives IG posts

  13. Maliksmama says:

I’m with the other commenters here. Why won’t those folk at KP let Kate be Kate? Her hair and clothes aren’t the real issue. Kate’s traditional vibe isn’t the main issue. It’s her blandness and lack of motivation. Her unwillingness to take chances and step outside the box. To be her authentic self. These are her main problems. Copying Meghan’s modern esthetic isn’t how they fix Kate’s problem.

Kate can’t out do Meghan. Meghan’s the master of being Meghan. And they have to know folk are picking up on their copying H&M.

    • Nic919 says:

Kate’s authentic self is to not give a shit about anything but shopping and dieting so it’s not like they can let that show. This is why she has to be given personas, since her entire life otherwise shows she doesn’t really care. The only difference between her and Melania is that she will not be as brazen about not caring.

    • Wiglet Watcher says:

If we go way back Kate’s one cousin tried defending her to explain Kate doesn’t care about much. That no one should be personally insulted if she appears to be bored.

The real Kate spent years chasing a man that cheated on her. Lied to her. Broke up with her a few times. Told her to leave his vacations.
She never got a real job. Never paid her own bills. Copied the styles of other girls close to William. And as his wife and a duchess she maintains who the authentic Kate is. A lazy woman that doesn’t pay her own bills and only works if she must while copying other women’s styles.

      • Nic919 says:

It’s pretty harsh for a relative to say, but that cousin has proven to be accurate in the decade or so since those comments were made. Kate is 39 and has access to a global platform but has done nothing with it except self aggrandize her non existent efforts of charitable work.

      • Susan says:

It just hit me how horribly insecure Kate must be. You’re right, I remember rumors about her cosplaying Jecca Craig with the hat Jecca always wore. We’ve all gone through those phases of insecurity in life, but you’d think at this point—not that she’s old, but she’s almost 40, married, three beautiful kids, admired the world over—she’d be a little more comfortable in her skin. The public speaking anxiety is rough, I get it, some never get over that. But the self esteem? Kinda worrisome to me.

      • CuriousCole says:

I hadn’t seen that “defense!” Might we be able to get Kate’s cousin on the podcast??? (Yeah I know it’s improbable, but dreaming big is my default setting.)

      • Cookie says:

I thought we agreed that family members weren’t the most objective sources when it came to the duchesseses?

      • Tessa says:

Yes Susan she did seem to be imitating Jecca. She and Jecca attended the same wedding and she wore a duplicate of Jecca’s hat.

    • kelleybelle says:

Which makes all those asinine articles about “Meghan is jealous of Kate” all the more ridiculous. It’s insane

  14. Julia K says:

The sofa pillows and background plants are not typical of Caroles taste so doubt this is Anmer.

    • Sofia says:

Apparently it’s Sandrigham. Why they’re there though I have no idea. Unless Anmer is undergoing renovations or something.

      • L84Tea says:

They’re all there hoping Harry will show up for a review, heehee.

      • Becks1 says:

So I dont fully get it, but one theory I saw on Twitter is that William is based at Sandringham, so the staff and zoom set up is there, so Kate has to go there to zoom (bc she cant zoom from Anmer if William isnt there apparently?) that theory sort of works in my mind because I’ve long felt that William was at Sandringham during all of this. that would explain how no one else got Covid.

      • Sofia says:

@Becks: but why is William solely based in Sandringham? I know he’s the FFK but Kate is the FFQ so if their future positions is why he’s their, wouldn’t Kate’s staff/office be based be there too?

      • Becks1 says:

@Sofia – the way I interpreted that theory is that william is at Sandringham so he can do whatever he wants – like his work is based there because he’s been living there, which makes sense since we know he probably didnt spend the past 10 months living with Kate nonstop. But he used to zoom from Anmer, so maybe he was going back and forth, maybe he was at anmer initially and then at some point moved to Sandringham?

IDK, but if the Sandringham bit is true (and it seems to be) , then it just makes no sense why are they going there for their zooms unless one of them is living there.

      • Sofia says:

@Becks I get what you mean and it makes sense if William lives at Sandringham on a part time basis at the minimum when he’s in Norfolk (especially as HM won’t be returning to Sandringham for a few months at least).

I’m just wondering /why/ he does it. But it’s probably cause he can do whatever and whoever he wants without Kate being in the same building.

      • Nic919 says:

Sandringham is just a short car ride from Anmer so I can totally see this being a home base for William.

      • Nic919 says:

Rebecca English confirmed the video was done at Sandringham and she is a Cambridge mouthpiece so we can rely that it is accurate.

  15. TheOriginalMia says:

Nice gesture. Her hair looks nice straight. The blouse and jacket are professional. The room definitely doesn’t fit her and William’s bland style. Hearing it’s the Queen’s residence makes sense. And there ends the positivity because OMG, she’s SWFing Meghan.

    • sunny says:

It is lovely she is thanking them and they must have been excited to meet her. I think she does well here but I cannot escape how much she is copying Meghan in room setup, and wardrobe. I mean, the Cambridges have never had a unique idea in their lives but the way they have the media crap all over that other couple but them immediately copy them is genuinely hilarious.

  16. Sofia says:

I like her hair. I don’t mind her curly hair but she does go overboard with the curls. “Softer”curls might be better. And nice of her to do the zoom call.

  17. Merricat says:

The imitation is a bad idea, in part because when comparisons are made, Kate will always be a pale second.

  18. Mignionette says:

I’ve noticed that the style of their engagements has changed a lot in the last 2 years. It’s night and day to the ribbon cutting and shuffling nervously.

It amazes me when people like this do not understand or accept why their counterparts (aka competition are popular). Copying Meghan will not suddenly embue you with her charms. It’s just astonishing that at 40 years old these two still haven’t worked that out.

But to be fair to both of them, they have been projectors all their lives molded by those around them for a specific purpose. Kate to marry well and Bill to become king in the next 20+ years.

That aside, It’s as if they feel it’s their right to be seen as better than the other couple just because of their royal titles. Being raised in the BRF really doesn’t prepare the young royals for real life. Take Charles for existence who has shown repeated contempt for the ‘plebs’ including his own wife, yet he cannot understand why he is unpopular,

  19. 809Matriarch says:

How many times will they Zoom to say thank you? I’m sorry but if I were a frontline worker, I wouldn’t even tune in.

    • Merricat says:

“Thank you for working so I don’t have to!”

    • L4frimaire says:

Agree. They’re constantly thanking frontline workers but that’s all they do. The NHS is under a lot of strain and stress, and facing hostility from the press and Covid deniers. While it’s nice to say thank you 100 times, there are other ways they can help educate the public show support, or focus on other areas in this crises, like food banks or teachers. It doesn’t help that every time they are out in public, they are not wearing masks or adhering to basic guidelines.

  20. Mina_Esq says:

Is she wearing age-appropriate professional outfit of dress shirt and blazer?! Whoa!

  21. Vanessa says:

She definitely copying Meghan from the Blazer to the small necklaces to her Hair to the setting of her zoom meeting . Kensington Palace think that if she copy’s Meghan look people will like her what Kensington palace don’t realize it’s not Meghan looks or outfits that’s get people to like it’s the actually work she does . Kate will do this zoom call and she won’t be seen or heard from again for the next two months that’s what the British public is paying for .

    • L4frimaire says:

The copying really way too blatant from the style of clothing, jewelry and hair, to the back drop. The way they copy Meghan is just over the top. This is Meghan’s look from 2 years ago. It looks like they took the tropical plants out of their Montecito study. They even stalk Meghan’s fans on Twitter. Everyone wears a black suit as pointed out but the background is way too much. Look how the royals generally decorate their spaces in general, with plates, those disgusting blackamoor lamps, classical art and formal, upholstered chairs, the color palette. It’s not generally this look, even for casual. You know she had a Pinterest page for Meghan’s fashion and Montecito homes. Yet at the same time they continue to harass and denigrate the Sussexes. It is constant. Look, she’s doing her job with the zoom calls and reaching out in her way, as she should, so good for her, but we know what we know.

  22. Keen Kate says:

Look up her photos from October 2020 – Derby University: it’s much shorter. Hair grows 0.5 inches in a month – and it has been less than 4 months.

  23. Mumbles says:

I found the nurses on the call more interesting. But on that point they do seem very at ease chatting with her. She came off a lot warmer than I expected. And the flip side of being sort of underwhelming is that she’s less imposing. And she doesn’t have her husband’s smugness.

  24. equality says:

Is it some type of strange speech training or botox or what? Kate barely moves her mouth when she talks. I think that is why she is hard to understand.

    • Coco says:

Subtle lip fillers? Or just lipstick outside of her natural lip line that she doesn’t want to smudge?

  25. Noodle says:

To the lady who retired three years ago and then came back to help, “Well done for coming back” seems a little… pithy. She doesn’t have anything else to say to a woman who is giving up her retirement to serve the public? Eesh.

    • MissMarierose says:

I’m still stuck on the fact that she worked for 40 years and took “early” retirement. My goodness, how do you have to work such a grueling job to get full retirement?!

  26. Lizzie says:

The 70 and up in-laws outwork her by yards and then here is this lovely woman who not only worked as a nurse for 40 years but has come back from retirement because she knew she was needed.
A change is certainly needed and it’s not her Zoom background.

  27. Susan says:

Fun fact: the fans over there on What Kate Wore are almost all agreeing in the comment section that they love this look, they’re tired of the pussy bows, frumpy dresses, age inappropriate clothing and sausage curls of recent years. Every time I have visited that website it was usually full of glowing reviews, love that they are giving Kate the constructive criticism. When the super fans see it….?!

    • CC2 says:

They want Kate to be Meghan so bad. Her feminine cheerfulness, her work ethic, her passion, her beauty. They just want a white Meghan who is just *dull* enough so that they can project themselves onto her. Shame though, because I feel like Kate can be likeable, without cos playing

I just looked and the comments are hilarious because they have no idea…Oof.

  28. Amy Bee says:

I feel at this point, she William and Kate should be doing more. It’s nice that they touch base with the common man but I think Zoom calls are not enough now.

My question is what’s wrong with Amner and don’t they have an office/study there?

  29. CC2 says:

Okay, so Kate actually looks stunning here. I don’t believe that Kate is hopeless. I’ve seen her engagements and she can be pretty engaging. Even William too. I think CB is a little harsh on her generally, despite me not caring much for her.

But I wonder..why the reinvention? Kate is appealing to the crowd she usually appeals. What’s the point? She’s generally a boring woman, but I honestly think she was doing enough to get by. Royalists have shown that they’ll put up with anything as long as it’s not Meghan.

Is this their way of trying to hold onto the Mugxits who only followed her because of their hatred of Meghan? They want her to serve looks and have her be compared to Meghan perhaps? I don’t know.

All I can say that if they want Kate to appeal to a modern crowd, it’s easy. Make her more controversial and messy. People love a messy royal. Meghan is loved because she has consistently shown passion and hard work, as well as running away from toxic situations. Kate doesn’t seem to be truly passionate with work, so she should become more steely, lol. Especially when she got a bit of public respect when she moved away from William at the Christmas special. All she has to do if William is horrid to her, is to show it publicly imo. If an affair were to come out, the public will definitely support Kate. I hope she knows that.

    • lanne says:

she doesnt need to be messy. She just needs to show evidence of being a human being with passions, interests, kindness, and empathy. She can be shy if she’s shy, quiet if she’s quiet. Plenty of shy and quiet people do great work. Apparently, in nearly 40 years of living, she doesn’t seem to be able to show anyone an inking of who she is. maybe no one ever asked her to show who she is as a person, but that’s the key to winning genuine respect from others. Right now, her appeal is that she’s “white and not Meghan,” which is only attractive to racist haters. She may be “liked” by the powers that be for her, the RF, the rota rats, the BM in general. But no one respects this woman. The danger is that she’s such an empty vessel that she becomes the poster child for right wing causes: the pretty, skinny, mute hausfrau of their dreams. That’s no way to win over the greater public, especially not on the world stage.

She is a Melania-esque “Queen of white nationalists”–that’s the default the crown is running with right now. The fact that no one over there thinks this is a problem is bizarre to me.

      • Nic919 says:

The monarchy is the literal embodiment of white supremacy so technically that is their audience. People who believe in merit and equality wouldn’t be the type to support any of the members of the mediocre family.

They try to cover it up with tiaras and ribbons, but the reality is that monarchy helped spread slavery and genocide around the world to keep a white family in power over centuries.

      • CC2 says:

Lanne, she does need to be messy. She had a decade to fake passion and interest and all of the things you said. And she’s struggling. All she has to do is to serve looks and be messy enough to turn heads of the GP. She won’t have ‘fans’ who will follow her every move, but she could get more goodwill than what she’s doing now.

    • Keen Kate says:

“I’ve seen her engagements and she can be pretty engaging. Even William too.”
How? Because they smile and laugh? Includomg laugh mouth wide open when NO-ONE ELSE IS AND SEEMINGLYNFOR NO REASON? They show faux concern sometimes? Big whoop. They never ask any questions that show any preparation or insight. They spent one year doing nothing for/saying nothing beyond thank you to key workers.

William is always making inappropriate jokes. She still hasn’t got the hang of weights in floaty skirts and dresses. Whoever is choosing outfits isn’t usually thinking of the occasion. Lifting and packing boxes in a £1000+ white midi dress with Hugo Boss silvery snake print high heels?

      • CC2 says:

They’re obviously not good enough, but there are some engagements and moments when they seem like fun people to chat to. CBers don’t sit and watch full videos of their engagements, because why would anyone want to, but Kate comes across as warm with little children and seems engaged enough there, as well as some sporty events. It’s not like the people Kate has met all said terrible things about her, she has received non shady compliments before.

There’s a reason why KP is forcing Early Years down her throat, because she is the least dull with kids. She’s not totally hopeless with adults, she’s probably better with senior citizens than Meghan (I dont blame Meg, it’s awkward for me too). And yes, Kate has shined relatively well enough on some occasions-her stopping to hug her midwife when she recognised her on an engagement, her and William competing, her stopping to hug a child that ran to her etc. I think due to our dislike of her character we see things in the most negative way possible instead of viewing her from the eyes of the public who have 0 opinion of her. It’s like Meghan trolls insisting that Meghan is fake or spaced out at an engagement just because she touched her hair or looking at someone intently. When in reality, you’d see that their behaviours are generally seen favourably by the GP.

If KP is smart, they’ll stop trying to make her Top CEO and just embrace the Stepford Wife that loves to spend time with children or animals. And the thanking nurses thing is getting tiring. Donate or do something else besides Zoom and train tours

  30. Louise177 says:

I’m all for thanking medical workers but can’t they call anybody else? It seems like The Cambridges’ only call them when a lot of other causes need attention too.

  31. cherriepie84 says:

Meghan 2.0 minus the charisma, intelligence, warmth, character, work ethic, genuineness…….

  32. Over it says:

    Bitch stole Meghan entire look😁

    • kelleybelle says:

Hair, outfit, background – direct copy of Meghan’s setup. Totally, right down to the plants and pictures. #lamesauce

  33. Beach Dreams says:

At this point it’s obvious that she and her team are doing this partially to get people talking about it. SWFing Meghan is the only way she can get people to pay any attention.

The Sandringham location thing is so weird. Today on Twitter they posted a photo of William making calls yesterday and he’s clearly in Anmer Hall (he’s done Zoom calls from that area before, it’s a room with a fireplace and green walls). Not sure what to make of it.

    • The reason why they’re in separate locations (William in Anmer, Kate in Sandringham) is because they have a lover’s quarrel. Can’t stand the sight of each other.

  34. mommadonna says:

this is some single white female ish…

  35. Caitriona O Reilly says:

Good God Kate.give it up , this obsession and copycat version of de lovely Megan is becoming concerning !

  36. candy says:

I can’t hate on this. Everyone should be thanking frontline workers right now, it’s been an incredibly difficult year.

  37. twoz says:

Ha. I was trying to cast this to the TV to show my elderly mother just how bad the effect was, and it keeps glitching out.
Even our ancient TV doesn’t want her on our screen.

  38. Likeyoucare says:

Maybe if the courtier leak a story that willie and kate donate their own money to the NHS then the public will love them more.
Do it kate, please copy meghan in that way. Thanking by Email and zoom didnt help much but money does.

  39. Jane Doe says:

It’s obvious and truly weird. Shades of Melania’s creepiness with Michelle Obama

  40. Kalana says:

Lol! I thought both William and Kate may be flouting lockdown rules again but their engagements are listed by court so they are Kensington Palace whether the engagement s happen there or not.

  41. Keen Kate says:

    14 secs – 17 secs : She says “…for the amazing work that you’re currently playing…” 🤣

  42. AnonyCat says:

    They thanked essential workers… again?

I mean yes, as a society, we owe a whole lot to essential workers including hospital staff, custodial staff, grocery store workers, retail workers, scientists, researchers, transportation etc.

However, Keenie and her husband went on a superspreader tour to thank essential workers (which broke the measures put in place to give hospital staff a fighting chance with the virus). Then she and her hubby went to a show that was meant to thank essential workers and keep their children entertained, and though this whole event had been planned to the T, the Keens inserted themselves in the narrative (they contributed nothing). All the masklessness resulted in the theatre shutting down. And now, again, they are thanking the workers.

I mean, their team needs to diversify their planner.

  43. Mia says:

    I like those cushions.

How far is Sandringham from Anmer from Houghton Hall? 👀🌹

Tbh Meghan’s decor can be a little too beigey earth tones for me, but it’s extremely contemporary up-to-date Southern California chic right now, so it fits with her modern, cutting edge vibe.

  44. Minxylass says:

My father is currently being treated at University Coventry and the nursing staff are absolutely wonderful. It’s great to see Kate using her platform in such a positive way.

  45. Pétulia says:

When I see how they are conducting themselves during this pandemic I wonder how H&M would’ve have acted if they were still senior royals

  46. Ewissa says:

Kate reminds me a lot of Melania.
Working – barely minimum – I only want to be a trophy wife …🤷‍♀️

  47. yinyang says:

She’s showing off a new decorator , what a hard life for her. You are not as free as Meghan, Kate. You are spending other people’s money. Her face looks fineline less, and her nose looks different.
DM comment liking is really suspicious. Any and every new comment is negative, but for some reason the highest rated comments are positive, it really correlates to buying likes.
BTW My husband is an essential worker he really would rather a raise.

  48. It’s good Kate is not with William in this zoom call. Every time she’s with her husband, she always trips and stumbles in her delivery. And then when she does William always gives her an exasperated expression. It’s the kind of look that tells her “ omg here we go again… can you not deliver your lines flawlessly just for once?” I don’t think William thinks highly of his wife.

  49. Donna B. says:

This is 2021, they need to do something new (Cambridges).
