This panel will discuss the future of the clean energy industry in the Midwest and how the regional university and national laboratory resources are our best-kept secret in building up the industry. This panel, sponsored by the Chicago Innovation Exchange (CIE), Argonne National Laboratory, and the Clean Energy Trust, provides a wide-ranging array of perspectives – from those of government researchers, national lab management, renewable energy start-up supporters, corporate energy industry executives, and University administrators tasked with commercializing research. The panelists will highlight some of the interesting technologies that are coming out of universities and national labs but also discuss how new organizations and processes can help take breakthrough research in energy and transform it into exciting new companies that will form the basis of the Midwest energy industry.
