Deputy cited for reckless driving

A St. Landry Parish sheriff's deputy has been accused of reckless driving after an incident Saturday in Port Barre.

According to Police Chief Deon Boudreaux, Capt. Megan Vizena, who serves as the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office spokeswoman, has been accused of pulling into a neighbor's driveway, striking a vehicle, then fleeing the scene.

Boudreaux said the neighbor reported the incident to 911.

Boudreaux said that Vizena has said she does not recall the incident.

Vizena said she did overshoot her driveway, backup and re-enter her driveway, but that she did not hit another vehicle in the process.

She said she did receive a traffic ticket.
