AUBURN, Alabama -- Ever wondered where your team would stack up if the Bowl Championship Series' computers were still around?
Well, most of you are glad college football no longer sides with that system, but it's fun to look back and see how that system would work today if it still existed.
USA TODAY cracked the BCS formula, along with rankings from the former BCS computers, to share where teams would stack up today following the sixth week of the season in their College Football Computer Composite rankings.
Auburn would be No. 1 in the BCS rankings if it still existed, according to the report. Auburn moved up three spots in the College Football Computer Composite from last week.
If the College Football Playoff utilized the BCS computers' rankings, three teams from the SEC would be included as of today:
1. Auburn
2. Florida State
3. Ole Miss
4. Mississippi State
Four different teams have been ranked No. 1 in the mock CFCC rankings this season, according to USA TODAY. A big shakeup occurred this week after seven of the top 12 teams lost this past weekend.
The College Football Computer Composite rankings "remove the human element from college football ratings. It is the product of five of the computer rankings that contributed to the Bowl Championship Series," according to USA TODAY.
Auburn faces Mississippi State Saturday in Starkville (2:30 p.m., CBS).
The College Football Playoff committee will begin releasing its own set of rankings, which it will use to determine the four-team seeding for the playoff, starting Oct. 28.
