OXFORD, Mississippi -- Alabama running back Kenyan Drake left Saturday's game at Ole Miss with what appeared to be a major leg injury.

[UPDATE: Drake is expected to need surgery and is likely done for the season, Nick Saban said after the game]

The junior running back was in tears as he was loaded onto a cart after the gruesome left leg injury. Trainers immediately called for the cart after it was obvious a major injury resulted. Drake went down at the end of a big play. He caught a 10-yard screen pass to convert a third-and-9 from the Ole Miss 29.

CBS is reporting he's getting x-rays. Sideline reporter Allie LaForce is reporting Drake's left foot was pointed the wrong direction after the play.

Drake leads the Alabama team in touchdowns with six. He scored four rushing with two more on long passing plays. His 87-yard touchdown catch on the first play of Alabama's win over Florida was one of the longest in program history.

In all, Drake had 22 carries for 112 yards in the first four games.

Support came from all directions via Twitter before Drake was carted off the field. He gave a thumbs up as he was driven into the Ole Miss locker room tunnel.

WARNING: You can watch video of the injury, but it is graphic.
