Emotional Fitness - Play Deep Dive Further to my post on emotional fitness (http://ow.ly/lxlo50DCi6g), thousands of you have shared advice and inputs which I’d love us to noodle on more together. This input today is around the importance of play as we improve our emotional fitness, and a few thoughts you may find valuable ~ 1. Switzerland, the most innovative country in Europe has a play based school system which focuses on social skills, problem solving, demonstrating empathy and sharing individual creativity. 2. The Urban Play Framework. An overwhelming body of evidence points to play as the best way to equip children with a broad set of flexible competencies and personal capacities to tackle new and different challenges creatively. Read more in this great article: http://ow.ly/81e250DCi6h 3. One of my favourite companies, Lego, have advanced the power of play to extraordinary levels. My ex-colleague Euan Wilmshurst shares such great inputs on the value of play with his new role at Lego - follow him on social media! What’s your favourite liberating emotionally uplifting play? Love your views and ideas.

Harriet Green This is Super tip. You are right through play/gaming teams are highly connected. In recent times we have been using Kahoot game in our AHMs, Agile trainings, Interns programs - response was amazing and feedback is they want more of these types of learning moments. Benefits its a 1)Fun 2)Recap, Learn new 3) Recognition to the Winners at end of game/play. Way2Go In EI sessions we used Role Plays from the audience and this was amazing and highly connected to understand why different emotions do come in work environment and how we need to respond, don't react

On a side note I experienced temporary deafness in my early years and had to lip read but after many operations my hearing returned; Play was an essential component of my learning to help with my speech development and language skills. On top of that I was diagnosed with hyperactivity and use to climb everything,  my poor mother! As an educator, I LOVE how INCLUSIVE  LEGO are Harriet Green piloting their Braille Bricks in eleven languages This is breakthrough learning through-play approach and superb work by Euan Wilmshurst The Lego Group, Lego Foundation and its partners! 🙏  👏 👏

I know the importance of learning through play being ex Hasbro and also love LEGO Harriet Green and how they empower children to become engaged, lifelong learners fromcreative exploration to providing a great calming activity to offset many highly-stimulating activities. I read The LEGO Group has also invested about $1 billion in wind farms and intends to make all of their products and packaging from sustainable materials by 2030. This is Awesome!  🙌👏👏

Harriet Green learning through play and having fun is essential. People remember through this and don’t learn from PowerPoint slides and a droning voice! You are spot on (as always!)

What a great topic to focus on Harriet Green . I've always liked what you've said about the three ways to live life and I follow it ...and try and tell more people about it too. It's such a simple hack for/of life you've given the world ....

Amazingly, something that has really helped me in the past has been horse riding! Had to learn from scratch, and it has a double benefit of being outdoors, and also when you are riding (especially learning), you just focus on that. Great for mental health and stress! Also great for core strength 🙂
