Re: “Donald Trump calls for “extreme vetting” of immigration applicants,” Aug. 15 news story.
Donald Trump’s “extreme vetting” is as phony as he is. Ask a would-be suicide bomber seeking to enter the U.S. if he believes in women’s and gay rights and his answer will be “yes.” Ask him if he wants Shariah law to become the law of the U.S. and his answer will be “no.” Ask if he shares Donald Trump’s “values and respect for our people” and his answer will be “yes.” Ask if he will eat a ham sandwich and he will respond “gladly” — he’s going to heaven anyway, so why worry?
Ask Donald Trump whether his “extreme vetting” will work and his answer will be “trust me.” Our answer should be “NO.”

Donald Trump wants to use “extreme vetting” when deciding who may enter the United States. He wants to block those who sympathize with extremist groups or don’t embrace American values. To quote him, “Those who do not believe in our Constitution or who support bigotry and hatred will not be admitted for immigration into our country.” My question is — when is he leaving?
