MURFREESBORO, Tennessee -- UAB will go for its third-straight Conference USA win when it faces Middle Tennessee today at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. central.

The Blazers (4-2, 2-1) have won two in a row, downing Western Kentucky on the road in a tight game and blowing out North Texas at home last week. The Blue Raiders (4-3, 3-1) has won two of its last three, including wins Old Dominion and Southern Miss., but fell 49-24 last week against league-leader Marshall.

UAB has scored 98 points combined the past two weeks while the Blue Raiders defense is rated dead last against the pass and eighth against the run in the conference.

*MTSU running back Reggie Whatley strikes for a 67-yard touchdown run with 11:00 to play. Blue Raiders quarterback Austin Grammer's pass attempt on a 2-point conversion try fails.

Third Quarter

*UAB wide receiver Jamari Staple hauls in a 43-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Cody Clements to cap a seven-play, 74-yard drive and Ty Long adds point after to put the Blazers ahead a point with 1:31 left in the third. Staples also had a 25-yard catch on the drive.

2nd Quarter

MTSU 21, UAB 15

Highlighted by a 34-yard gainer, MTSU running back Jeremiah Bryson scores from 2 yards out to cap a six-play scoring drive for the Blue Raiders with 3:50 play before the break.

UAB 15, MTSU 14

*UAB caps a 13-play, 4:59 second drive with a 1-yard TD run by Jordan Howard out of of the Wildcat. Blazers have 154 rushing yards with 6:05 to play before the half. The Blazers go for 2 but Cody Clements' pass attempt is broken up.

MTSU 14, UAB 9

*Ty Long makes it 3-for-3 on field goals for the day, hitting a 32-yarder with 11:34 to play before the half to trim the Blazers' deficit to five.

1st Quarter

*Tuscaloosa native Austin Grammer hits wideout Chris Perkins in stride for a 65-yard touchdown. Cody Clark nails the PAT with 25 seconds left in the quarter.

MTSU 7, UAB 6

*UAB's Ty Long hits his second field goal of the day, this time nailing a 41-yarder with 1:11 to play in the quarter.

*UAB's Ty Long connects on a 25-yard field goal with 7:16 to go in the quarter.

*MTSU running back Jermiah Bryson scores from a yards out to cap a three-play, 35-yard drive with 12:37 left in the quarter and the extra point attempt is good. The Blue Raiders got the ball on the Blazers' 35 when a punt caught a UAB  player in the back of the leg.
