Mariners Harbor couple seeks help finding missing Yorkie with grave medical condition

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Marissa Ranello's Yorkshire terrier has gone missing after  managing to escape from her gated yard on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

"I left him outside for five minutes and when I came back out he was gone," she said. "Our gate was still closed. So I have no idea how it happened".

Ms. Ranello is extremely concerned because her 7-year-old dog has a dietary condition that, without the proper diet and medication, could subject it to life-threatening seizures.

Dee Dee, a male, weighs approximately six pounds. His sports a mostly silver coat with black undertones. His head and legs are golden blonde. His face is a reddish/blonde color. His tail is docked and his ears tip over when they are at attention.

On the day Dee Dee escaped, Ms. Ranello said witnesses in front of Christ United Methodist Church spotted a couple pick up her beloved Yorkie near the corner of Eunice Place and Forest Avenue, and walk away with the pooch in tow.

"We're offering a cash reward, no questions asked," she said.

Anyone with any information with the whereabouts of Ranello's dog can reach her at 718-873-6984.
