That Feels Like Home: Podcast Survey

You don’t need us to tell you that we are living through times of great uncertainty. The Covid-19 pandemic is changing the way we live. So at the Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture (MoDA) we have been reviewing our plans for Season 2 of our podcast That Feels Like Home, and we want to know what you think. What do you feel is most important right now?

We’ve come up with a few broad themes for our podcast and want to know which of them you might prefer. We are also keen to hear fresh ideas for podcast topics and whether you would be interested to participate as a guest.

Once we have heard from you, we will have a look at the ideas and work out where we go from there.

The deadline for responses is 13th April.

* 1. What would you like to hear about?

Stories of home: Discussions with audiences and invited participants around shifting meanings of home, in Covid-19 and beyond. With many of us facing self-isolation, how has the pandemic affected our sense of home? In what ways has it transformed how we relate to our everyday domestic surroundings? How has it affected social and/or family relations in the home? How is our relationship to home impacted by new work routines?

Collections-focused and behind the scenes: Discussions with artists and academics around how they have used or are currently using different objects from MoDA’s collections to inform their work (e.g. katagami, textiles, home and crafts, domestic literature, design history, home technologies, etc.).

Learning with things: Discussions around the pedagogical work we do at MoDA, and different approaches to learning with objects, from slow learning and looking, decolonising perspectives through to issues around gender and sexuality in the classroom.
