Dining Services brings Chef David Burke to William & Mary

William & Mary Dining Services will welcome Chef David Burke to campus Wednesday to take over Chancellor’s Bistro.
Dining Services will host two events during Burke’s day at Chancellor’s Bistro, one of which will be a meet and greet and sampling with Burke open to all students during lunch at the Commons Dining Hall, starting at 11 a.m.
The second event will be an invitation-only dinner featuring a special multi-course menu created by Burke. As guests enjoy their skillfully-crafted meal, the proceeds from which will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they will be able to meet and talk with Burke.
Burke’s visit will kick off the official grand opening of Chancellor’s Bistro, a premium restaurant concept created with high-quality and great value in mind. Located within the Commons Dining Hall, Chancellor’s Bistro offers an on-campus, meal plan-eligible, fine dining restaurant experience featuring locally sourced foods.
Burke is universally known as a pioneer in the culinary world. His reputation for sourcing and utilizing the best ingredients along with the originality of his presentations has placed him in the forefront of American Dining. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Burke went on to become the first American to ever win the prestigious Meilleurs Ouvriers de France Diplome d’Honneur, through his mastery of French technique and flair for creativity. In 2003, he opened his first restaurant, Chef Burke & Donatella in New York City, and since has opened 10 more across the U.S.
