Lingering soggy systems will impact portions of the Four Corners, Gulf Coast, and Northeast today.
Colder air will continue to move into the eastern half of the U.S., bringing blustery conditions as well as a mix of rain and snow to the Appalachian spine, portions of the Great Lakes region, and the interior Northeast. This wintry precipitation will be commonplace throughout today, especially this morning and evening.
To the south, rain showers and thunderstorms will impact southern Texas, Florida, and the Southeast coastline. This unsettled weather will be prevalent throughout today but should end after sunset.
In the Four Corners region, a mix of rain and snow will continue to fall at the higher elevations today.
Otherwise, the rest of the nation will stay fairly dry and quiet as high pressures settle in.
Most of the Western U.S. will see a dramatic warm-up, as high temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s from the northern Plains across the Mountain West and into the Desert Southwest. Due to the ongoing winter storm in the Four Corners, temperatures will only reach the 30s, 40s, and 50s in these areas and along the Rocky Mountain Front Range from New Mexico to southern Wyoming.
Similar temperatures will be found to the east, as the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley, and Northeast regions struggle to break the 30s and 40s. Fifties and 60s will be found in the Mid-Atlantic and the Deep South, while 70s and 80s can be expected for Florida and areas along the Gulf Coast. Some areas in southern Florida may even reach the 90s!
