It’s Big Library Read time again, and this time it’s a young adult title! People of all ages are enjoying the ‘teen-lit’ renaissance and now you can join in with readers from all over the world.
The Big Library Read is a program in which libraries worldwide offer a single eBook to their members in order to create a global library book club. As a Christchurch City Libraries member you are invited to join in the fun. You can download, listen to and read Anatomy of a Misfit by Andrea Portes on OverDrive from Tuesday 14 October until Wednesday 29 October – there is no limit on how many people can check this title out, tell your friends, your family, people on the bus, all readers are welcome!
Described as a mix of Heathers and Mean Girls (with a dash of The Perks of Being a Wallflower), Anatomy of a Misfit is about the third most popular girl in school and her choice between the hottest boy in town and a lonely but romantic misfit (swoon!). The narrator, Anika is a sarcastic bad girl who you may love and hate in the same chapter, and who needs to decide if she is going to maintain the status quo or rock the high-school-clique boat.
