For whom:
Research professionals and researchers who are interested in understanding the impact cycle of research and how to develop research projects in line with the ongoing impact developments in the research landscape.
About the workshop:
Societal impact is one of the most urgent topics in research strategies these days. The research community is undergoing a transition towards an inclusive and open research landscape that goes beyond academia. It is becoming more and more important to be able to effectively describe the outcomes and the anticipated impacts of research on diverse societal spheres and audiences. But where to start? How can these efforts be shown effectively?
In this recorded webinar, you will hear about:
•
current changes in the research culture towards the society at large;
•
societal impact as a concept (theoretical knowledge, what is the impact cycle);
•
how the impact cycle can be used as the tool to explain and analyze research impact.
About the organizers:
This webinar is part of a series of events that will be organized by the Outreach and Societal Impact Support Team (in short: OASIS team) of the University Medical Center Groningen. Through these events, we aim to encourage a boost towards an impact-oriented research culture that will enable researchers and research professionals to respond to the increasing demands by funders and national evaluation processes on this topic.
