Fire and Ice Seasons of the Vampire I

Rate this book
Noel Tierney thought she’d have enough time before the predicted storm to make it to her holiday retreat, but the snow hit sooner than expected. Caught unprepared on a treacherous pass, poor visibility and icy conditions lead to a crash. She lay immobile in her vehicle, stranded in a ditch in the most remote leg of her journey.
A faceless hero comes to her rescue and Noel has no choice but to wait out the blizzard in her rescuer’s unique cabin nestled in the woods. Everything about Grayson James peaks her curiosity—his valor, air of mystery and most of all, undeniable attractiveness.

For three days and nights, passions are unleashed and unexpected emotions are brought to life. When the storm breaks, Grayson vanishes into thin air, but not before revealing startling news that leaves her questioning her sanity.

Fast forward years later and Noel is in the southernmost part of the United States. She’d come seeking solace after her husband’s tragic death, but what finds her in Key West is more than she ever anticipated.

In the sultry summer, her unbridled winter’s ecstasy resurrects.

And so does the Vampire.

I am Erotic Vampire Author Maya DeLeina

I love anything and everything Vampires. Dark gothic imagery gets my heart pumping. Men with muscular physiques, pale skin and a downright right bad-boy look (not to mention fangs) makes me weak in the knees.

And this was a problem for me.

I was born and raised in Hawaii- not quite the right setting to allow myself to delve deep into these dark passions. I lived in perpetual sunshine so having a delicious fantasy of a sexy vampire brushing up against me also came with images of 3rd degree burns. Ouch!
So the moment I relocated to Colorado, my love for vampires rekindled and my passion never burned brighter. The setting was just perfect; the cold, misty mountaintops, creepy graveyards, enchanting forests and howling creatures in the woods. Add to all of this the fact that I moved to Manitou Springs, a town rumored to have wizards, witches and vampires and I was truly at home.

Don't believe me about my town?

We have annual coffin races through the streets, a 500-million-year old underground world as a major tourist attraction, our own castle at the end of the town, a haunted cemetery and fabled underground tunnels. Now how is that for the setting for a Vampires series?

THE AMBROSE HEIGHT VAMPIRES SERIES
Set in Manitou Springs, Ambrose Heights is the gated community that sits hit up on the mountain, overlooking the town. The town’s residents don’t quite know what to make of the mysterious neighborhood. If they did some investigation, they would realize what they were living among. After all, Ambrose translates to Immortal.

And slated as a seven-book series, you’ll have enough wild and seducing vampire tales to sink your teeth into.

Fire and Ice: Seasons of the Vampire 1 is the gripping tale of Noel, a vibrant young woman, and Grayson, a sexy mysterious vampire that she encounters after a dangerous accident one winter.

Noel is on the quest for solitude one fateful Christmas holiday. She has a cabin reserved in the woods, where she plans to spend her time free from civilization. With snow falling in smothering sheets, she takes a perilous turn off the highway, where she plummets to what seems to be her end. A ray of hope arrives in the form of a mysterious man that rescues her from her car, and carries her off to safety.

In his cabin, Grayson cares for her and nurses her back to her usual vibrancy. Though mysterious, she finds him attractive in ways she has never experienced. It does not take long for sparks to fly. Noel is drawn to him within hours. With this, the readers finds that our protagonist is far from shy and reserved. She seeks to seduce him, bend him to her desires. Perhaps it is his vampiric allure. We cannot be sure of what attributes to this almost unnatural instant attraction.

If your scruples aren’t disturbed by this, you will be captivated by their chemistry and subsequent erotic endeavors. Bear in mind that Fire and Ice is a paranormal romance with a heavy erotic undertone.
Noel and Grayson seem to be a compatible match, and yet their heart-warming romance comes to an abrupt end. They enjoy one another’s body, and company, and yet their time ends when Grayson vanishes, leaving her well off with her car intact and bags packed.

This ends the story of Noel and Grayson. Or so it seems. She learns of his vampire nature, and misses him dearly, and hopes that they will meet once again.

A new man enters Noel’s life, and the reader will easily miss this unless they read both the prologue and epilogue of the story. Noel falls for and marries a man named Dante, a once business partner of Grayson’s that dies shortly after their marriage.

Poor Noel seems destined to be alone.

It is the second half of the book, where Noel and her best friend, Suzanne take a trip to Key West to find closure for her loss. This turn of events reveals new revelations, intriguing new characters, and mysteries that will leave the character thirsting for more.

I will start off my saying that I have read some real doozy of plot twists in my book reading life but the ending/epilogue to this one really took the cake! I did not see that coming and it left me both intrigued and mind blown but also disappointed that Grayson and everything might be… Well… I won’t ruin it by going into any more detail, you will have to get the book to find out for yourself, though I suppose the beauty of the way the ending was written, everyone will most likely have a different interpretation on what it means.

As usual with a piece written by Maya DeLeina, the story telling and description of every moment is wonderfully done, it really captures the moment and allows you to imagine every element of what is happening. I liked how the plot progressed, it didn’t feel rushed to get where the story needed to go and it flowed smoothly.

The steamy scenes were some of the more heated and screen meltingly good that I have come across in a while, though some of the sexual dialog was a touch much however it wasn’t off-putting and didn’t affect my overall enjoyment of the read. If you are after a refreshing story from the other paranormal romances out there this might be one for you to consider. I’d give this read a rating of four stars.

I loved this book!!

Noel finds herself heading to the mountains for the Christmas holidays only to get caught in a severe snowstorm. Wrecking into the ravine and being rescued by the handsome Grayson is just the beginning of a hot mind blowing sex weekend. The attraction is instantaneous between the two but Grayson tries to hold back not wanting Noel to find out he is a vampire and run away. Finally giving in to this attraction sets life events in motion. The weekend ends and Noel is heartbroken that Grayson is gone.

Noel goes home never forgetting Grayson. Life continues and heartbreaks happen. Will Noel ever find happiness again? Where is Grayson? What does life have in store? Will they find each other again? All questions that will be answered in the book!!

Loved this ending and can't wait for the next book!

Congratulations on another great book!!
