In what proved to be the highest scoring game between two top 10 teams in college football history, No. 5 Baylor outlasted No. 9 TCU 61-58 in Waco, Texas on Saturday.

The Bears (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) trailed 58-37 with 11:38 to play, but scored 24 unanswered points to win. Chris Callahan's 28-yard field goal as time expired kept Baylor unbeaten.

The 119 combined points broke a record for combined points by Top 10 teams set in 1988, when Nebraska beat Oklahoma State 63-42. Auburn's 59-42 victory over Missouri in last year's SEC championship game is now third on the list.

TCU quarterback Bryce Petty threw for 510 yards and six touchdowns, the last a 25-yarder to Corey Coleman with 4:42 to play that tied the game at 58-58. TCU then drove to the Baylor 45, but turned the ball over following a fourth-down incomplete pass with 1:11 left.

Baylor then drove to the TCU 11, helped along the way by a pass interference call on the Horned Frogs (4-1, 1-1). Moments later, Callahan drilled the game-winner.

The two teams combined for 1,267 yards, 782 by Baylor. Petty was 28 of 55 passing, while TCU counterpart Trevone Boykin was 21 of 47 for 287 yards.

TCU scored a pair of non-offensive touchdowns, including a 94-yard kickoff return by B.J. Catalon in the second quarter and a 49-yard interception return by Marcus Mallet in the fourth to put the Horned Frogs up by 21. TCU's Jaden Oberkrom kicked three field goals, Callahan four for Baylor.
