What's new on Netflix next month? October means colder weather, which means more people staying in, which means more TV shows and movies to binge-watch.

The biggest title coming to the streaming service on Wednesday, Oct. 1, is the entire series of "Gilmore Girls," which ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007. Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel starred as Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, respectively, navigating their way through small-town life in Connecticut, relationship drama and social class struggles.

Other notable additions include a lot of '90s films, such as "Sleepless in Seattle," "Galaxy Quest," "Hoop Dreams," "Tombstone," "My Father the Hero" and Baz Lurhmann's "Romeo + Juliet," which starred a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. Critically acclaimed fare includes "Kramer vs. Kramer," "Django Unchained," and 1953's "Shane."

And since Halloween is only four weeks away, there's a few horror flicks being added like the 2013 remake of "Carrie" with Chlore Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore, Laurence Fishburne's "The Colony," and John Malkovich's "Shadow of the Vampire."

Central New Yorkers may also want to add a few titles to their Netflix queue that have local connections: Syracuse-born actor Tom Cruise's "The Firm" and "Rain Man" will both be streaming this month, as well as "In a World..." starring Lake Bell and DeWitt native Michaela Watkins.

But beware: Netflix is also getting rid of a few dozen movies and TV shows, including the entire series of "Law & Order" (and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit"). Titles expiring at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday include "Ghostbusters," "Ghost," "A League of Their Own," "The Hunger Games," "Mean Girls" and Syracuse basketball coach Jim Boeheim's acting debut in "Blue Chips."
