March against economic inequality in downtown Syracuse

The political action group We Are New York sponsored a march to end economic inequality. About 25 people joined in the demonstration that walked from the City Hall Atrium to the Federal Building. We Are New York is an alliance of individuals, unions, community groups and businesses working together to promote equality and respect for all.

Some of the issues they advocate for are: job creation with fair living wages, an increase in funding for quality education, effective and affordable health care and retirement with dignity. The group hopes to have a pledge to end inequality signed by Senators Schumer and Gillibrand and Congressman Maffei.
