KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Flagler College women's soccer team is ranked No. 1 in the final United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25, released Tuesday afternoon.
This is the first Flagler program to finish the season ranked No. 1 in the NCAA Division II era. The Saints were ranked No. 1 in the previous poll on April 20.
Flagler (8-0-2) won the Peach Belt Conference Tournament for the second year in a row on April 10. The Saints played to a 1-1 tie through 110 minutes against Columbus State University, but won in a shootout, 3-1. This was the first Flagler athletics team to go through the season unbeaten.
Columbus State (6-1-2) was the only other PBC ranked in the top 25 at No. 20.
Mississippi College (8-0-0) finished ranked No. 2 with Angelo State University (10-0-0) following at No. 3. McKendree University (14-2-1) and Seattle Pacific University (6-0-1) round out the top five.
