I’m replying to the tidbit when he mentioned Attack on Titan (around 48 mins).
The golden rule of turning manga into anime is two chapters per episode; the still image they show usually signals the end of one manga chapter. For Attack on Titan specifically, these still images comes from extras the author includes kind of randomly at the end of manga chapters. Some anime studios choose to animate or create a little break in the middle, usually ten minutes in. Hope you learned something.
