Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) used some explicit language in a Huffington Post Live webcast when discussing a colleague who made comments about her post-pregnancy weight.

"I've just had a baby, I've just been appointed [to the Senate], I have a lot to learn, so much on my plate, and this man basically says to me, 'You're too fat to be elected statewide,'" she said during the webcast on Monday. Then the senator dropped the f-bomb, saying:

In August, Gillibrand revealed that male colleagues had made inappropriate comments about her post pregnancy weight. While promoting her new book, "Off the Sidelines," the Senator has been vocal about the kinds of remarks women hear about their physical appearances, CNN reported.

Gillibrand claimed that male colleagues have called her "porky" and "fat." One colleague allegedly said, "I like my girls chubby," while squeezing her waist.

"A statement about a woman's looks -- positive or negative -- can be very undermining to her credibility," Gillibrand said during the webcast. "I want women to make their own judgments."

Gillibrand has faced some criticism for refusing to name the colleagues on Capitol Hill that allegedly made these remarks. She has waved off the comments, saying that due to their age (some of her male colleagues are in their 60s, 70s and 80s), "they had no clue that those are inappropriate things to say to a pregnant woman or a woman who just had a baby or to women in general."

She told HuffPost Live on Monday:
