Girls Soccer: HHHW shoots in seven against Riverhead

Arianna Sabatino scored 58 seconds into the game and Half Hollow Hills West never looked back as the hosts recorded a 7-0 win over Riverhead in a Suffolk County League III girls soccer game in Dix Hills on Monday afternoon.

Sabatino, a senior midfielder-forward, and senior forward Gabi Costa finished with two goals apiece for Hills West (2-1, 1-1), which scored all of its goals in the opening half against the Blue Waves (0-3, 0-2).

Olivia Garrison, Annabella Mannetta and Jen Casadonte also found the back of the net for the Colts.

Exactly two minutes after the first goal, Garrison doubled the lead on a right-wing feed by Olivia Sabatino. Casadonte scored from the left side at 9:42 for a three-goal advantage and Arianni Sabatino connected for her second off a Costa feed from the right side for a 4-0 lead at 16:26.

Costa scored on a breakaway past sophomore goalkeeper Claire O’Connorat at 22:55 before she added her second goal for a six-goal cushion at 30:08. Annabella Mannetta closed out the score at 35:04.

O’Connor made five saves.

Hills West keepers Joanna Musascchia, a senior, and Taylor Sachs, a junior, combined for the shutout.
