DECATUR, Alabama -- A Decatur woman noticed her property started disappearing over the past several months, and police have fingered her home contractor in the crime.

The victim told police over the weekend she's noticed several pieces of jewelry and gold and silver coins have gone missing from her Enolam Boulevard home. Investigators identified her private contractor, Joseph Wiley Campanile, as the suspect. Police said they discovered he sold the stolen property at Mr. Gold of Decatur at 1416 6th Ave.

Campanile, 33, was charged with first-degree theft of property, a Class B felony, subsequent to the investigation. He was transferred to the Morgan County jail on a $5,000 bond.
