OMG: Amal Clooney steps out in NYC with twins Alexander & Ella

Amal Clooney is all smiles as she steps out with her children Alexander and Ella

George and Amal Clooney have been in New York for a few days. I thought they had an apartment in New York, but I guess not, because now that I’m thinking about it, they’ve been coming in and out of the Four Seasons all year. And because New York is New York, of course the paparazzi stake out the Four Seasons, which is how we got these amazing photos of Amal Clooney with a twin in each arm.

For whatever record, this is not the first time the Clooney Babies have ever been photographed – there are several sets of grainy, blurry photos out there of the twins, and there are even a handful of better quality pics. But this feels like the first time we’ve really seen their faces up-close. And OMG. These kids just look like they have so much personality. Ella is a little beauty, and she seems to take after her mom, looks-wise, from what we can see. I imagine she’ll have really dark hair too, although in these photos, she looks rather fair. But Alexander – who I call Sascha Clooney – is an absolute dead ringer for George. OH MY GOD this child’s face. Sometimes, a baby or toddler will just have the grumpiest old man face ever, and so it is with Sascha. I bet he grows up to be super-handsome like George though.

I can’t believe Ella and Sascha are already a year and a half. Wow. And my favorite detail about these photos isn’t Sascha’s grim disgust – it’s the fact that Amal and George made sure both babies got the same teddy bear. ONE BEAR EACH.

I love these pictures! those kids are super cute.

    • Vava says:

      They are cute!!!

      • Reality Check says:

The eyebrows are so severe. She should stop doing microblading, she doesn’t need it. Her eyebrows are so intense, it’s all I can see.

      • Reality Check says:

The outfit is so tacky. And, that hat…. she really likes that look. But why?

    • minx says:

      Really beautiful kids.

    • whatWHAT? says:

their little jeans and sneakers! GAH, so cute!

    • AnnaKist says:

Cute little children, but golly, she’s really loaded down – kids, teddies, bags… She’s so thin, it’s a wonder she can manage. I’m exhausted just looking at these photos.

      • Kitten says:

How can she do it in those HEELS though! I would already be on the pavement.

      • minx says:

She looks like she’s going to topple over.

      • jan90067 says:

I’m sure the nannies were *jusssst* out of camera range to take the kids right after the photo op. Amal is not one to let a paparazzi go without a shot.

      • Nah says:

Who would actually walk around New York carrying two teddy bears, two small toddlers plus a purse after a score at the big shoe sale.

      • Milla says:

Probably 1 min walk. That’s what celebrities do and it’s better than to show their kids under their own terms. They can always go to the judge and get little piece of paper which says it’s illegal to photograph their kids. Simple.

      • Trashaddict says:

Ah. You are all such Celebicynics….which is why I love coming here.

      • Ann Carter says:

This. Eyes are sunken, dreadfully thin.
There’s something heartbreaking and revealing about Amal putting that much thought into her own ensemble.

      • Dani says:

Kitten – I’ve done it with two kids in stilettos. When there is a will, there is a way. Also the weight of the kids help to balance me.

    • TwoSense says:

How is the boy such an exact Mini me of GC. I ❤️ Genetics!

  2. Missy says:

They are so sweet! She certainly has her hands full!

  3. hnmmom says:

Cute kids. But WTF is Amal wearing??????

    • Skyblue says:

My exact thoughts! Cute kids and WTF is Amal wearing!

      • Serphina says:

My thoughts exactly: cute kids and WTF is she wearing. She looks like she’s a few seconds away from a tumble. I wasnt to yell: TIMMMMMBERRRRR. You go girl. I couldn’t pull that off worh one kid, let alone two.

      • Tessy says:

It looks like they photoshopped her head onto Mick Jagger’s body. Those skinny legs in those pants and boots… what a disaster.

    • Esmom says:

I know, right? I did a double take. She looks like she stepped out of a time machine from a Prince show, circa 1989.

The kids are adorable. When Sascha gets his first haircut I think they should try George’s famous caesar style, lol.

      • marjiscott says:

Esmom, I think you and everyone else here commenting are so right, This is what women were wearing in Germany/ Italy in 1982! Arragh!

      • Some chick says:

I’d like to step into a time machine to a ’90s Prince show!!!

    • smcollins says:

Count me in with the dismay over her outfit, but those babies are ridiculously cute! Alexander’s angry face is killing me. He’s definitely his father’s son 😂

    • Sabah says:

One part of her personality appears to be that she seems to be a major fashionista, but she’s very hit and miss with her fashion. Unfortunately it tends to be more miss than hit, if we’re being honest, but when she scores a hit, fashion wise, it tends to be A+.

    • DIRTNAP says:

With affection, I call her “Hello Kitty Clooney” because her sense style is so incredibly young. Her career is serious and maybe this is how she expresses her fun side, but when I think of her resources and the designers she has access to, I wish I could pull her aside and convince her rethink her outfit choices. To each their own I guess! If Amal feels prettiest in Forever 21 fashion, bring on the leopard, latex and lacerated jeans!

      • Famika says:

Yes the Hello Kitty Amal is back. I use to hate it, but now I like it, because it seems true Amal style.

Cute kids and I think the boy has an adorable grumpy George look. Who woke him? Lol.
Baby girl looks unfazed though. So cute.

  4. MattyLove says:

Oh, Amal. Cute kids, incredibly accomplished woman. But her style is just so, SO bad.

    • Sara Martin says:

I was just going to say that. With her arms overloaded, hunched over, barely keeping it all in hand, and in that bizarre outfit she looks really uncomfortable, overwhelmed, and under-prepared.

  5. Snowflake says:

The paps really got a good picture! Cute babies

  6. Royalwatcher says:

I love love love that they are BOTH in jeans and sneakers! I hate when boy children get to be in comfy warm clothes and girls are dressed in dresses and uncomfortable/slippy shoes. I also love that Alexander has a teddy bear instead of a truck or “boy” toy.

Both kids are adorbs and yes, Alexander looks exactly like his dad!! I love his “grumpy” eyebrows lol.

    • Eliza says:

Haha i hate babys in jeans (esp jackets) because they can’t move as well. And are less comfortable.

But love the shoes on both.

      • Esmom says:

Little jeans are so cute, though. I tended to have my kiddos wear jeans for “show” and then while at home playing and napping I always had them in comfy sweatpants.

      • ByTheSea says:

Jeans are cotton, they have a lot of give and they’re warm. My son used to love them as a toddler.

      • Nikki says:

The little toddler’s jeggings are to die for. Look like jeans, but they’re stretchy comfortable. Adorable kids!

  7. Surely Wolfbeak says:

If Edward G.Robinson weren’t dead, I would have questions.

  8. Mara says:

I know nothing about children or how much they weigh so am I an idiot for being impressed that she can hold both of them at the same time in high heels?

    • Cee says:

You’re not an idiot. It is impressive when women do it with one toddler, imagine 2. A kid this age has the average weight of 10-11 kilos so yeah, she’s lifting 20 kilos in heels.

    • Beth says:

Those are wide heeled laced up boots, so they’re not akward to walk in like 6 inch high spike stiletto heels

      • Bumble says:

Exactly-a wise heel and ankle support, totally doable, especially just door to car. And I love her clothes- they are fun, whimsical, and she always looks stunning. She seems to have fun with it while not working and in more conservative clothes. More power to her.
Those babies. Both adorable and a handful. Fun all around

    • LNG says:

Not to mention that toddlers do NOT sit still. They wriggle around and will decide to take a nosedive for absolutely no good reason. And god help you if they pull the arms straight up move. They slide right out of your arms as though they were greased. I can’t handle one in flats with no cameras around to spook them, let alone two!! Go Amal. I can only imagine the relief when she got them in the car!! Haha

    • Cynthia Perry says:

I’m not impressed. She can barely hold on to them. Either have someone help you or use a stroller.

      • Audrey says:

Agree…anyway, this is an obvious pap-walk. She probably only carried them a few feet from the building to the car.

      • Emmet says:

        @Audrey

thanks for being so far the only one here to say this

(fleet of nannies hiding in the back too)

      • Nikki says:

Gosh, Audrey, I thought I was being (uncharacteristically) bitchy, because my first thought was she’s incredibly thirsty to go out with a wriggling toddler on each hip: so silly! I’m a mom of twins, and the double stroller was my lifeline. No one does this; a toddler will throw or drop their bear or pacifier, and how do you pick it up with a kid on each hip? Nope, just for the photo op, because don’t tell me a nanny or the driver couldn’t have lent a hand. That said, the kids are totally adorable!!!!

      • Marigold says:

Sometimes kids don’t give you the luxury of easily going to someone else, especially when their mother is right there. We don’t know the situation.

      • Amy says:

Or maybe they’re like my twins were at 1.5 and if one is being held by mommy, both want to be. Or maybe because it was likely a two second walk to the car she just picked them both up knowing it would only be a few feet. I found myself developing strength I didn’t know I had because you better believe that was easier than opening the stroller and getting them both buckled in. Geez.

      • ChillyWilly says:

Yes, kind of dangerous and totally for the photo op. She would have nannies carrying those kids otherwise. We see you, Amal.

      • Sonia says:

Eh, she’s probably just carrying them from the door to the car, it’s not that big of a deal. I doubt she went on a walking tour holding them like that.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Holding on to my twins like that was how I developed great biceps- isometrics!

      • Mel M says:

Haha me too! When you have twins you have to learn to do this, bottom line. I still have to do it sometimes with my three year old twins because sometimes they both want me to sway with them at night because sometimes kids just want their mom. It doesn’t last as long now a days but I still can. A couple weeks ago my husband commented on how I could pick up one of them with just one arm and put them on my hip while holding something else in the other. I was like, do you live here? I’ve been doing this for three years now and have gotten really good at the one armed pick up, you have to in order to survive.

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

        @Mel M-
High fives to all of this! Those days are long gone for me- mine are 17 1/2 now!

      • Melba72 says:

Us twin moms do what we gotta do. We get strong carrying both kids at the same time with diaper bag, handbag and toys in hand. The double-stroller though is what helped us get out of the house! My 3-year-olds sometimes still ask me to carry them at the same time but I can only handle short distances now with both of them in my arms… plus I’m short at 4’11” (lying… I’m a tad shorter) and our twins are half my height.

    • ichsi says:

Not only the heels but also the fact she’s TINY! She’s swimming in her size zero trousers, yet she can carry two toddlers. Even if it was only for a few metres, colour me impressed.

    • Penny says:

Mom of twins here. She does not look like she is used to holding them at the same time at all. But they really are so cute. Do they have make up o?

  9. Originaltessa says:

Omg that little boy looks just like his daddy it’s hilarious.

  10. Kat says:

Adorable! And of course two bears. My kids are a year apart and we get two of most toys. They notice right away if their sibling has something and they don’t!

    • Dee says:

I can’t imagine why anyone would be surprised that two children get a teddy bear each. ??? Can you imagine carrying two toddlers fighting over a single toy? Mommy nightmare!

      • ByTheSea says:

I think it was that they have the same toy, as opposed to a different toy for each.

      • Embee says:

I bet those bears were a gift from the hotel. Imy daughter has received similar when we stay at nice hotels.

    • Nikki says:

We bought our toddler twins identical stuffed animals, and they each wanted the other’s! We were incredulous!

  11. Chaine says:

OMG that baby has already formed a complete and withering opinion of paparazzi, hasn’t he? Hilarious! And I am loving seeing Amal looking like an utterly harried mom, and how can she even balance holding two squiggly toddlers while wearing those ridiculous KISS looking boots?

  12. Jayna says:

OMG Alexander is such a little George. He is a big boy. Ella’s face is more delicate, it appears. They are both cuties.

There’s other new photos out there also of Amal in a really long black leather skirt and black sleeveless top on stage in a joint appearance with Nick Clooney talking about issues. It is one of my favorite outfits on her. She looks stunning. This outfit not so much.

  13. Cynthia Perry says:

Cute kids, glad she didn’t drop them.

  14. Sam says:

Impressive mommy strength managing two children who weigh 1/2 of Amal.

  15. Loretta says:

They’re so cute. Alexander is a mini George.

  16. er rtyrsdr says:

    >my favorite detail about these photos isn’t Sascha’s grim disgust – it’s the fact that Amal and George made sure both babies got the same teddy bear. ONE BEAR EACH.

as a fellow parent of twins, it is CRUCIAL that things be as equal as possible. otherwise, CHAOS

  17. L84Tea says:

Holy smokes! Alexander is a little mini-George!

  18. Marjorie says:

Pap stroll with costumes. The Four Seasons has private entrances, should one wish to avoid the paparazzi.

    • Jeanie says:

Cute kuds but yeh this way a staged stroll for the paps. Where’s daddy George to help her out, are we meant to believe she’s a hands on mom with no nannies.

    • Olive says:

of course it was – they’ve hidden the children’s faces from the public up until now, no way this is an accident.

the little girl is beautiful and the mean-mugging little boy is… george clooney’s son for sure.

  19. Diana says:

    😍😍😍😍😍

  20. Amelie says:

Very impressed with her strength and dexterity wrangling both kids while walking in those heeled boots! I don’t care if it’s a staged pap walk, I’m still impressed.

Alexander’s expression is everything. He reminds me of my friend’s son who gave birth a few months ago. Every time I see a picture of her baby on social media he always looks so grumpy and unamused.

Also I’m not sure why everything is so impressed both kids have the same toy. Growing up with a sister who was only two years younger, my sister and I usually shared things like Barbies or Polly Pockets but if we got gifts, we both each got a Polly Pocket. We both each got a Barbie. We both each got the same toy, maybe different variations but always the same toy so we didn’t feel like the other was missing out. Even today when my mom goes on business trips, she likes to get us mementoes from her work trips to Asia and she always makes sure to get us the same thing but maybe in slightly different styles/colors or what have you. I’m 30 and my sister is 28. We’re long past the age where we would get mad about the other not receiving the same thing but my sister’s “what about me? what about me?” as a kid have stuck with my mother and she just keeps at it.

  21. lucy2 says:

Those kids are adorable. I forgot they even had them!
Alexander has some serious eyebrow game.

  22. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

My first two boys weighed almost 10 pounds at birth. You can imagine by 18 months, they were hefty devils running all over the place. Wrangling one required serious, intelligent, well-planned domination lol. I can’t imagine tangling with twins. I have great respect for mommies of multiples.

  23. Lala11_7 says:

I remember when George described his babies as Alex being a bruiser and a bit of a brute…and Ella being a delicate Angel….

I’m guessing he was on point!

    • Dara says:

Everyone gave him sh*t for it too, saying how dare he perpetuate such sexist stereotypes. But yeah, Papa George was on point 100%.

  24. Rosie says:

I think Nancy Dell Olio is her fashion inspiration for this outfit.

  25. Beth says:

Actually there is a video that shows she is with her mother-in-law who helps her pile the kids into a waiting car. Of course she has a nanny but she’s still the mom and I’m sure must have enormous demands from her young twins — having one young one at a time was all I could handle.

I know she is rich and has lots of help but I can do nothing but admire her. She does great, important work, seems to sincerely want to make a difference in the world and is unapologetic about loving and wearing fashion. She loves that hat and wears it a lot, which I find endearing. I love the look and think she looks fantastic, as she does most of the time.

I find these comments about a staged pap stroll to be ridiculous. Of course she likes to look good for the camera but I don’t believe for a minute that she was trying to get herself and her babies splashed all over the news. If you see the video you will see that she was simply leaving her hotel and getting into the car with her family. And she was rushing. No way was she looking for publicity.

    • Parigo says:

Agreed so much hate for a 2 minute walk. There would be no point to pull out a stroller or have someone else carry them. That would look even worse. And Amal looks fine. She’s wearing leather leggings and a winter coat/Hat. Plus she’s not wearing high heels, booty with chunky heels more like it. Totally practical and fashionable.

  26. Moneypenny says:

The truly impressive feat here is that both kids are holding on to the teddy bears. My 16 month old would hold it and, at the least opportune time, purposely drop it while saying, “Uh oh!”

  27. Franny Days says:

Damn these snarky nanny comments. I have a nanny because GASP I work full-time but doesn’t mean I am incapable of carrying my kid to the car by myself.

    • Trashaddict says:

I don’t think the snarking is about having a nanny. Having a nanny is a lifesaver!
I think the snarking is about having a nanny but pretending you do it all.

  28. tw says:

The kids are adorable. The photo op is super weird. Like she ever carries both kids like this. She’s so damn thin. Come on. She looks like a leg could snap under that weight. Carrying one kid gets heavy quickly. She’s curling 25 pounds in each arm. And yeah, the leather pants and sexy mom thing is the latest bikini virgin. We get it Khloe and Amal, you’re sexy moms.

  29. Charfromdarock says:

Grumpy grandpa babies are the cutest babies!

Maybe they just wanted to get the paparazzi shots over and done with, I’m sure they must be followed constantly for a clear close up shot of the twins.

    • Jayna says:

They have kept their kids out of the public eye for a year and a half, no sold photos magazine covers, on and on. She knew she would be photographed sooner or later and took control. It’s a quick dash from the hotel door to the car. If she had had an assistant carrying one, everyone would have said, oh, how the rich live, an assistant with them at all times, carrying their kids, taking care of their kids. They can’t win.

I applaud them for keeping their children out of the eye of the paparazzi while living this first year and a half. All of those gaggle of blinding lights with people behind the camera are not good for kids.

      • greyate says:

Hear hear. Exactly. THese kids are NEVER photographed. what difference does it make if she planned this in an instant or in a New York minute. Either way, the kids are adorable, she at least SEEMS like a hands on mom.

My question is: where is george? That ‘relationship’ between Amal and George, omg, how in the world is THAT handled. lol

      • Bella says:

Winning would be putting your kids first throughout their lives so obvs calling the paps to take photos of your kids at 18 mos, despite showing some earlier restraint, isn’t even close to being commendable. ‘Relationship’ seems dead on. Everything about the Clooneys comes off as ridiculously contrived.

  30. Grey says:

Why is it only cold enough for one bay to wear a hat?

Or is it that exhausting gendered socialization of putting uncomfortable stuff on baby girls heads and treating them as decorations?

  31. Seriously? says:

    They are SO cute!

And the skinny shaming comments here are gross. My sister isn’t much bigger than Amal (from pics) but is strong AF and has no problems carrying her two toddlers at the same time. Amal is literally carrying them from the door to a car, no great distance. Like come on.

People like to shit on Amal and George, but they are putting their money where their mouth is.

    • Jayna says:

There’s quite a few photos of them deplaning or boarding a plane or just walking somewhere over the summer and fall and Amal carries one baby like a pro, very easily and firm grasp. I have no doubt she can carry both for a short distance easily. George, on the other hand, I’m sure had has a strong hold on the other one, but the child, whether Alexander or Ella, is always dangling in his arms. LOL.

It was really sad after his accident. Two days after, it showed them arriving at a private airport. Amal was carrying Ella, who looked adorable, by the way, in a little blue-patterned dress and white hat and white sandals. George was not carrying Alexander and looked like he was in excruciating pain. In the golf cart from the car to the plane, he was turned, like he was trying to shift his weight, in pain just sitting. He leaned heavily on the golf cart as he got off. At the plane, he had to have assistance before he started up the plane steps. And to go up the steps, he had to hold on to both side rails. George really downplayed the exacerbation of his back problem from the accident.

Ella and Alexander both have George’s long eyelashes.

    • NYCTYPE says:

I’m sorry, but Amal doesn’t look good.
The huge bags under her eyes are very ageing and she is so painfully thin.
I know that in the West, the skin and bone look is considered beautiful, but I think just 15 – 20 pounds on her frame would make her look a lot more feminine and healthy.
It would give her some curves, so she does not look like a coat hanger.
She is dressed like Janice from Friends, I just watched a few days ago.
Hideous clothes, like a groupie from the 80’s.
I’m glad that I’m tall and thin, but not scary thin.

  32. april says:

That’s amazing how the baby boy looks exactly like George and the baby girl looks just like Amal.

  33. Chef Grace says:

The face on that boy. 😼
    Little girl is a doll.
I had to go back and look at Amals’ clothing. Gonna be odd one out as I like it except for the leather pants. Needs to be jeans. But she is so thin. I want to give her a sandwich or two.

  34. Crickles says:

She dresses like Janice from Friends.

  35. Monika says:

Wow. I have twins too and I’ve never been able to carry both of them like this at the same time (I completely cop to my lack of upper body strength) so I am in even more awe of this remarkable woman!

  36. Littlefishmom says:

She looks pin thin. This happened to me as well. I would literally forget to eat. Chasing kids around. I don’t know how people do this in heels. No no no.

  37. Oliviajoy1995 says:

    Those kids are beautiful.

  38. Miss M says:

Cute kids. I guess I am the only one who thinks Alexander looks like amal and Ella is the spit image of George’s mom, Nina.

    • Jayna says:

If you look at photos of George’s mom when a little younger, back even eight years ago I see the resemblance, but I also see a resemblance to Tala, Amal’s sister. They are adorable kids. Alexander looks like a mini George to me, at least right now. You can Google a George Clooney as a baby, and there’s photos of him as a toddler under Images. There’s one of George as a baby holding a toy or real telephone receiver to his ear, and the likeness, even hair color, is remarkable.

But the kids will keep changing as they grow. Madonna’s daughter started out looking so much like Carlos and more and more the resemblance to Madonna became stronger.

      • Miss M says:

Hey Jayna! Thanks for your suggestion. I looked and I dtill failed to see the “spit image”. Yes to the hair, long lashes and brow situation. But everything is Amal to me.
You mentioned Tala and I had to look up a photo. Tala’s eyes have similar shape to Nina’s. I do see Ella’s strong resemblance to Nina.
But I agree with you. They will change a bit.

  39. Katebush says:

Omg the twins are gorgeous never seen such eyebrows on a little baby he looks just like his dad.
I also like Amal’s style she’s never boring.

  40. SOL says:

The kids are adorable, but ….
what in the world is she wearing? Everything about this outfit is so, so, so tacky.

  41. Foxtrot says:

Fabulous, another milestone in Keeping Up With the Klooneys All the Way to the WH accomplished! An absolutely fascinating series featuring the very worst of mixing celebrity with vacuous couture, mostly empty political posturing, a lot of self back slapping, and old fashioned narcissism, all starting with a with-hired-paps blossoming romance African safari and circus of a multimillion dollar wedding. So the (very cute) twins have been debuted, which means Klooney and his ego is getting more serious about his run. Twins are very, very cute but this five second walk was so obviously set up and carefully planned. No matter how cute these kids get, the parents remain odious poseurs.

  42. Jennifer Leader says:

I’m just gonna go ahead and say it. Amal looks terrible. She has huge bags under her eyes and she looks so malnourished. I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions that there are a bunch of nannies lurking around. Girl looks like she hasn’t eaten or slept in months. I feel bad for her. Those legs look anorexic

    • Ashby says:

      I completely agree with you.
The bags under her eyes are really big and visible.
Amal looks malnourished, there is thin and there is also scrawny skinny.
      She look unhealthy here,
I think that she would look great with 15 – 18
more pounds on, even her nose would look smaller.
This outfit looks like something a groupie would put on to chase her favourite band around the country in.

To each his own, but this skin and bone look is not for me.
She would look much better with about 15 + pounds or so, not just her legs, but her face.
Her nose would look smaller with some fat in her face and the bags under her eyes would be less visible.
Amal looks sick thin in this pic.

I like her sense of style. It definitely skews young but I like that she’s playful. She dresses formally and seriously when the event calls for it but otherwise she dresses for fun. I would as well if I had half her fashion sense. She just doesn’t look like everyone else which is nice.

Also she might be loaded up with her kids and all their stuff but I bet she’s just walking across the sidewalk into an awaiting car. Not very far. Kudos to her though. I’d be in sweats and my Converse and only holding one kid.

Amal is so beautiful, inside and out, she makes my head hurt. Gorgeous twins, too. Wish them joy. Seems like a happy, healthy family.

Twin moms are the champs of holding 900 things and two toddlers at once. We may look unstable, but we’ve got it. Sometimes you’ve got to get them both somewhere and no one is around to help – you scoop and hustle. What I call BS on is those sparkling white toddler shoes. That’s how you know she was prepared for paparazzi.

Not that I’ve tried to find a picture, I’ve just never seen a picture of her pregnant. Suddenly there are two children. Has anyone here seen a picture of her pregnant?
