Sherlock is on the case.

The little Beagle weaves in and around the throng of travelers at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport just to return possessions left behind on flights.

A video shared by the Royal Dutch Airlines explains how some items are returned to their owners with the help of an adorable pup that sniffs them out.

In addition to using trip manifests to track down owners of lost phones, passports, children’s toys and other worldly possessions, Sherlock is trained to get a good scent on the item and track its owner before they leave the airport.

About 80% of lost items are returned to their owners, the airline noted in a statement released by KLM Tuesday, but it doesn’t clarify how much of that is thanks to Sherlock.

In the video, Sherlock is shown dashing around the airport connecting passengers with their lost things before they realized they’re even missing.

He’s trained for “muscle strength, endurance, and of course, socialization,” Dirk Van Driel, his trainer, states in the video.

Beagles rank right up with bloodhounds when it comes to their sense of smell, and are a common breed found on search and rescue teams.

There’s even the former Beagle Brigade —now known as USDA-APHIS Detector Dogs— with the U.S. Department of Agriculture that sniffs out illegal food at more than a dozen international airports.
