Get your Halloween fun started early this year with these seven scary haunted houses around the Valley this weekend.

Cast member Chas McElmury plays a killer clown at Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare haunted house at WestWorld in Scottsdale on Thursday, September 18, 2014.

Chambers of Fear

This nasty haunt has been one of the Valley's scariest haunted houses for several years running. Located in a strip mall a short drive from Bell Road and the 101, it's dark, claustrophobic and teeming with spirited scarers who aren't shy in their quest to give you nightmares. There are three themed chambers spread over 25,000 spine-chilling square feet: Chambers of Fear; Darkness: Industrial Nightmare; and Scary Tales.

Details: Through Nov. 1. 7 p.m.-midnight Fridays and Saturdays; 7-10 p.m. all other days. Check website for complete schedule. 11340 W. Bell Road, Surprise. $23; $33 for fast pass. 623-255-6896, chambersoffear.com.

13th Floor Haunted House

This enormous haunted house offers two separate attractions on one location: Dwellings of the Dead and Zombieland: Lockdown (a can't-miss for zombie aficionados and "Walking Dead" super fans). The fun begins in the parking lot, where escaped monsters lurk to terrorize patrons as they wait in line. Inside, you'll find top-notch production quality, from undead makeup to fog-filled graveyards and a rickety elevator that takes you to the terror of the forbidden 13th floor.

Details: Sept. 19 through Nov. 8. Check website for complete schedule. 2814 W. Bell Road, Phoenix. $24.99-$28.99 for general admission; $10 extra for fast pass; $20 extra for immediate access. 602-456-2250, 13thflooraz.com.

Fear Farm

This huge West Valley attraction boasts themed areas with names like "Chainsaw Mayhem" and "Mouth of Madness," so you might want to wear some running shoes. Frequently voted one of the Valley's best haunted houses, it's also got something most others don't: a six-acre corn maze.

Details: Sept. 26 through Nov. 2. Check website for complete schedule. 2209 N. 99th Avenue, Phoenix. $24.99-$28.99 for general admission; $10 extra for fast pass; $20 extra for immediate access. 623-826-5632, fearfarm.com.

House of Screams & Wicked Dreams

What started as a popular haunted house in a front yard in Phoenix has grown up into the real thing this year. Enter the home -- and twisted mind -- of fictional serial Clyde Bailey, and learn through lots of screams what drove the madman to become a cannibal. A portion of the ticket sales will go to the Alice Cooper Solid Rock Foundation and Bosom Buddies of Arizona, a breast cancer charity.

Details: Sept. 26 through Nov. 8. 2810 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix. $20; $30 for VIP. houseofscreams-wickeddreams.com.

Golfland Fright Nights

Golfland's Gauntlet haunted house takes you through a multilevel maze with special effects, animatronics and terrifying actors. Be prepared to crawl and climb. Gauntlet is not recommended for kids younger than 13. For more family-friendly fun, there's Spooktacular Golf, where you can play 18 holes of miniature golf till the witching hour on a course decorated with skeletons, bats, spider webs and orange lights. Costumed characters may surprise you with a treat.
