'Pulp Fiction' screens for $5 at the Palace, SU presents Buddhist film: GET OUT

The Palace Theater will screen '"Pulp Fiction" on Monday, September 22, as part of the Flashback Monday Movie Series.

Fall Flashback Mondays Begin
Flashback Mondays return to the Palace Theater this fall with a screening of the classic drama "Pulp Fiction," starring Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta.

The 1995 comedy crime film, directed by Quentin Tarantino, won an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and a Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the screening begins at 7 p.m. Snacks are available for purchase in the lobby and beer and wine will be served to customers over 21 with a valid ID.

Where: The Palace Theater at 2384 James St.
When: Mondays until November 24 at 7 p.m.
How much: $5 at the door.

A Month Of Hungry Ghosts: A Film With Lama Namdrol Tulku
This 90-minute film documents Singapore's annual Hungry Ghost Festival, covering the spiritual history of the seventh lunar month when some believe the gates of hell open up and the souls of the dead are allowed to wander the earth. The film captures Buddhist and Taoist rituals and performances, shows paranormal research on the subject and delivers the vibrant sights and sounds of the festival to viewers. The film will be introduced by Buddhist master Lama Namdrol Tulku Rinpoche from Thekchen Choling Temple in Singapore, who is featured prominently in the film, and the screening will be followed by a Q&A session.
Where: Grant Auditorium in the School of Law Building, Syracuse University, 900 S. Crouse Ave.
When: Monday, September 22 from 7-9 p.m.
How much: Free and open to the public.

Syracuse "Go" Club
The Syracuse Go Club, a chapter of the American Go Association, meets on Mondays at the DeWitt Wegmans in the rear of the dining area. Go, known as "weiqi" in China, "baduk" in Korea, and "igo" in Japan, is an ancient strategy board game played with black and white stones placed on the line intersections on a wooden grid. A wide selection of beverages and food, including a sushi bar and Chinese buffet, are available for purchase at the Wegmans Market Place. The Syracuse Go Club charges regulars a $10 annual donation for membership, however, free lessons are offered to beginners.

When: Repeats every Monday from 7:15-10 p.m.
