HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder remains the only certified #climateneutral container terminal in the world. The renewed #certification of CTA by the TÜV NORD GROUP demonstrates how technical innovation, automation and digitalisation enable climate-neutral container handling. Last year the #carbonfootprint was further reduced by 6.4 percent, which therefore did not require compensation. CEO Angela Titzrath: “Since its opening in 2002, the CTA has undergone continuous development. Today, it also serves HHLA as a research and testing laboratory for new, highly promising technologies. Solutions that have proven themselves here are frequently used later at terminal facilities around the world.” 📸: Half of the approximately 100 Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) at CTA already run on lithium-ion batteries. By the end of this year two-thirds of the fleet will be replaced by the fast-charging battery technology.

  • The automated guided container transport vehicles (AGVs) play an important role for the climate neutrality at the CTA.

Congratulations HHLA Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG! I’m super happy to read such news. It’s noticeable that more and more companies in T&L digitizing their operations on every stage to be #climateneutral and reduce #CO2 emission. I’ve recently read about DHL and UPS activities or Kuehne+Nagel with their Net Zero Carbon programme. ZeroNorth is especially close to my heart as I have a pleasure to work with them and I know how impactful these software solutions are. All this effort is needed in the way of #sustainability. Congratulations!

Congrats to our customer! A great role model in HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder GmbH... excited to be a small but important part of their success. INFORM's algorithms are optimizing travel routes which lead to lower #CO2 pollution. Hopefully #sustainability becomes even more important for the industry.
