From Hamburg to Trieste 🌈 Our HHLA Diversity Container is currently on display at our multipurpose terminal HHLA PLT Italy. The container is not just eye-catching on the outside; inside, our colleagues find an exhibition, celebrating diversity at HHLA in all its forms. The container was developed by three of our dual students in Hamburg as part of the Charta der Vielfalt e.V. Diversity Challenge, which empowers young professionals to create sustainable initiatives centered around the theme of diversity. The container is now touring various HHLA locations, offering our team members the opportunity to engage with its informative interior, such as explanatory videos, tips and factual information about diversity. Welcome to the #HHLAfamily ✨We have taken a significant step towards growing our logistics network by acquiring a majority share in Roland Spedition, one of the largest owner-led container operators for climate-friendly hinterland transport in Austria. Our partnership will extend our service footprint across our wide European network of seaport terminals in Hamburg, Tallinn, Trieste and Odessa as well as intermodal hinterland connections and inland terminals: With an annual volume of around 130,000 TEU, Roland is a key player in Austria's container operations, driving the shift towards eco-friendly rail transport. Their network stretches across Central and Southern Europe and connects the Ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Rotterdam and Antwerp as well as Koper and Trieste to the hinterland. We will hold 51 percent of Roland's shares, while the remaining 49 percent will stay with co-shareholders Christian Gutjahr and Nikolaus Hirnschall, who will continue to lead the business. #Meet Christopher 👋🏻 Christopher is a dispatcher in the onshore equipment team at our climate-neutral* Container Terminal Altenwerder in Hamburg. To advance our sustainability efforts, he has specialised in electrical retrofitting. This means that he is responsible for extending the lifecycle of our machines such as the automated storage crane systems. Together with his team, he makes recommendations as to which components should be retained or replaced, support the crane manufacturer with technical questions or check the new crane documentation for accuracy. Christopher has always been fascinated by storage cranes. He joined us at HHLA in 2001 coming from an industrial company, first starting as a craftsman before becoming a deputy foreman in the repairs department. Today, he spends about a fifth of his working time directly in the block storage facility. Christopher has been able to put together his own team since 2006. Working at the world's first certified climate-neutral* terminal makes him proud, as he and his team have helped to achieve this goal, for example by converting to energy-efficient LED technology. #HHLA #sustainability #portofhamburg #logistics #teamwork *More information on our website.

🥐 Tasty treat for truck drivers from our passify team: To streamline registration and provide even more support for our digital truck handling solution, our team took the chance and handed out delicious Franzbrötchen, a local favorite pastry in Hamburg, to truck drivers at our Container Terminal Tollerort in Hamburg yesterday. passify is a new and innovative app, which will eventually replace the traditional trucker card at our terminals, making truck handling safer and more efficient. The app has been developed by our innovation unit HHLA Next, and ensures heightened security with app authentication and seamless integration into gate processes, contributing to the digitalisation of our terminal operations. Soaring into the future with HHLA Sky GmbH: Drones are constantly opening up new possibilities for optimising industrial processes. Particularly when being part of an effectively designed automation solution. To make them fly automatically almost at the push of the button, our subsidiary HHLA Sky has introduced a sophisticated system, that controls multiple drones in the air at the same time remotely. These automated drones can proceed a huge variety of tasks such as inspecting the giant container gantry cranes in the Port of Hamburg, monitoring traffic jam in the city or delivering medical goods in an emergency faster than ever. HHLA Sky has automated not only the remote controlled flying, but the entire process chain essential to drone operations on an industrial scale. Their integrated Control Center manages everything – from planning routes and flight requests from other systems such as SAP, to flights, data transfer and drone maintenance. Even more: Incorporated mobile ground robots can autonomously handle air cargo from the drone and transport it to the production hall. We love a #team challenge! Handling special cargo, such as the helicopter by Heliswiss International AG that we recently shipped from Hamburg to Chile, requires a great deal of coordination and cooperation. The helicopter initially arrived at our Container Terminal Burchardkai and was transported by barge to our Container Terminal Altenwerder. There it was loaded onto Hapag-Lloyd AG's Montevideo Express. The 250 litres of residual fuel in the helicopter's tank were subject to a special regulation of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code, making proper handling all the more important. Once arrived at its destination, the helicopter sets off on an important mission as it is going to be used in the fight against forest fires. #HHLA #logistics #teamwork #portofhamburg
