TYNGSBORO — Police arrested a Nashua man early Friday morning after he allegedly hit a police officer.

The police received a report of a suspicious male walking in the middle of Middlesex Road, near Mutual Oil, at about 6:30 a.m. Officers responded to the parking lot of Tyngsboro Motors, where it appeared that Edward Veazie, 23, was trying to break into a vehicle, according to police.

Officers told Veazie to stop, but he refused to comply, according to police. When one officer tried to gain control of Veazie, he allegedly struck the officer in the face with his hand.

The second officer then tazed Veazie, who was driven to Lowell General Hospital to have the taser probes removed. Veazie is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, and attempt to commit a crime.
