Fairfax County's first bicycle master plan will lay the groundwork for developing a network of interconnected bicycle routes throughout the county. The goal of the plan is to allow all residents and visitors to be able to take more short trips by bike. The plan is more than a physical bicycle network. It includes recommendations for encouraging more people to use bikes for short trips and more kids to ride bikes to school. Education for bicyclists and motorists is also an important component of the plan.
