Neighborhood Bistro Revival: Amass Opens Today

Chef Joe Troupe took over the former Corner House space at the end of June and today, he is opening Amass, a neighborhood bistro in Jefferson Park.

The quaint 1250 square foot space got some cosmetic changes, the most significant of which is a red wallpaper wall in place of the aspen wall that lined the dining room. A matching red chandelier was added over the round bar-height community table.

This new French-inspired casual restaurant will serve dinner Tuesday through Saturday and plans on adding brunch service mid-October. The food is approachable classic French fare ranging from chicken liver mousse to a killer French onion soup and a simple Bouillabaisse.

Troupe, who has led the kitchen at Lucky Pie Pizza & Taphouse for the last couple of years, fell in love with French cuisine at Brasserie Ten Ten in Boulder where he spent four years. This is his first solo venture which he named Amass (pronounced ah-mas, which means to bring together) to honor his vision: creating a gathering place.

From 4 to 6 p.m., the restaurant offers happy hour with deals on food and drinks.
