Restaurants In and Around Brighton

There are 21 different types of cuisine listed for the area so there are way too many restaurants to list! However here are a few suggestions.

The Curry Leaf Cafe

As you would expect this is an Indian Restaurant set in the Lanes just back from the seafront. The food is freshly prepared, both meat and vegetarian, not your normal ‘curry’ and is beautifully presented. A slightly quirky venue with brilliant service.

The Chilli Pickle

Again set in the Lanes, not your average Indian restaurant. Different food whether for lunch or dinner and great service. Always a good spot for people or celebrity watching.

The Giggling Squid

A Thai restaurant that serves the most taste tantalisingly good food. There is one the centre of the Lanes of Brighton that is in a very old higgledy piggledy building, it could be that you will have a room to yourselves, or there is another in Hove that is in a more modern building but still brilliant food.

Gars Chinese

Wonderful Chinese food in a beautiful setting, again in the Lanes. Service is great, the owner tends to be wondering around and is always keen for a chat and a laugh.

Pho Cafe

This is a Vietnamese street food restaurant set just back from the seafront. Great for a snack or for a full dinner. The food is very light, healthy and extremely tasty.

The Salt Room

A modern British seafood and grill restaurant. This is right on the seafront so has great sea views and also has a terrace for outdoor dining. The food is charcoal grilled, beautifully presented and very tasty.

Makara

A very typical Turkish restaurant so not the most luxurious of settings, more traditional, but the food is great. All meats are cooked on a charcoal grill in the middle of the restaurant and the meze to start with is delicious!

The Gingerman Restaurants (The Ginger Man, The Ginger Fox, The Ginger Pig and The Ginger Fox)

All local restaurants, which one you go to depends on which part of Brighton and Hove you are in!

The food is modern European pub type food, beautifully presented, where possible locally sourced and seasonal.

Terre a Terre

Listed in the top 100 UK restaurants. Vegetarian food at its best. Again in the Lanes and just back from the sea front.

Pomegranate

A Khurdish restaurant in the Kemptown area of Brighton. A very different menu serving meat, fish and vegetarian.

Busby and Wilds

A Kemptown gastropub just above Brighton Marina. Amazing food, fresh and locally sourced. Huge

wine list and plenty of real ales. Very friendly staff. Outside dining area.

Waterside Brasserie (Brighton Marina Casino)

The restaurant within the Rendezvous Casino offers authentic classic brasserie food. A great way to start an evening on the tables.

The list goes on, in fact there are approximately 1,000 eating establishments in the Brighton and Hove area. There are the chains, such as Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge, Nandos etc, but there are also so many individual restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs, all of which serve great food. Bon Appetite!
