Like so many other people, my houseplant obsession began in the COVID-19 lockdown. I went from zero plants to over 50 in under two years!

My plant babies gave me something to care for, fuss over, and ultimately take my mind off the pandemic, and now I can’t imagine my house without them.

My whole family has gotten involved with them. My daughter likes to mist them, my cat likes to swat at them, and my husband silently rolls his eyes when I bring home yet another plant.

Plant Enthusiasts Unite

One of the best things about plants is meeting other plant enthusiasts and sharing knowledge, tips, and plants. MGPL's Plant Swap on May 7 is a great place to do that!

Plant Swap

Bring a healthy (no pests), rooted houseplant (rooted cuttings welcome) to trade. Be ready to share your plant’s name and care instructions if you know them.

Plants will also be available for purchase at Plant Shop Chicago's mobile plant shop, which will be parked behind the Library. Their houseplant experts can answer any questions you might have about your new plant. Registrants will also be eligible to win a Plant Shop Chicago gift card.

Sign up for the Plant Swap and I'll see you there!
