Mobile education platform Speakaboos brings classic stories like Cinderella and The 3 Little Pigs to digital life as interactive storybooks. And more kids titles are set to get the digital treatment, following Speakaboos’ new partnerships with The Jim Henson Company, HIT Entertainment and Scholastic Media.
As a result of the new deals, Speakaboos will feature new stories and songs from the Henson catalog, including three new Sid The Science Kid titles – Rollie Pollies, Reused Robot and Hello Doggies. Scholastic Media’s Weston Woods videos will launch on the interactive books, with titles such as Wheels on the Bus, I Stink! and Is Your Mamma A Llama?
The new titles will be live on the Speakaboos app in August, and the company will expand the content in the coming weeks and months. Speakaboos will also release titles from HIT Entertainment this fall, including stories from Thomas and Friends, Angelina Ballerina and The Next Steps.
In addition to the partnerships, Speakaboos has also released a new Speakaboos app for the iPhone. The company already has an iPad app on the market that takes the classic kids tales and turns them into interactive storybooks, voiced by celebrities and set to original music.
Now, kids can access the library on iPhones, too. Designed for kids under five, the app is free to download. Users can get three stories for free, after which they must subscribe to access unlimited stories. Along with the new app, the company also released updates for its Speakaboos Stories iPad app. Version 2.0 features two new reading categories: Robots and Dinosaurs.
