If you are looking to purchase a new Worcester boiler then it is very important that you know what ‘type’ of boiler you require. There are a number of different model types available within the Worcester Bosch range and the one you require will be dependent on your central heating setup.

Combi boilers
Giving you hot water and heating from the 1 appliance, combination boilers are the most common type of boiler in the UK as they remove the need to have additional kit like hot water cylinders or tanks, so are a lot more beneficial for properties where there is not a lot of additional space.
Combi boilers heat the water as it flows through it, so there is no stored water and you effectively have hot water when you need it. There are a number of varieties of Worcester Bosch Combi boilers including the I, Si Compact, CDi Compact and CDi Classics.
Regular “heat only” boilers
Working with a hot water cylinders, regular boilers rely on heating hot water and storing it until you need to use it. The hot water cylinder will often be supplied by a cold water storage cistern and an expansion cistern, so they do tend to take up a bit more space.
As a result regular boilers are typically found in older properties or those with a larger demand for hot water. The regular boilers in the Bosch Boiler series are the Ri and CDi models.
System boilers
Worcester Bosch have a number of system boilers, including the popular I, I Compact and CDi Classic models. System boilers are very similar to regular “heat only” boilers in so much that they work alongside a hot water cylinder to store water.
However they have a pump built in, removing the need to have a cold water tank and expansion vessel, which helps to boost performance and save space.
