A woman who lost both legs, one arm and all her fingers from a sepsis infection is taking legal action against the hospital that failed to spot it.

Magdalena Malec, 31, who has two daughters, also needed a kidney transplant to save her life after she contracted the disease while in hospital.

She had been admitted to Luton and Dunstable University Hospital with an ectopic pregnancy but suffered a loss of blood supply to her limbs, causing the tissue to die. The hospital has admitted failing to spot that this was because of sepsis.
