A delightful, pun-filled Twitter conversation between a Sainsbury's customer and a member of the supermarket chain's social media team has become an internet sensation.

Marty Lawrence - aka @TeaAndCopy - tweeted the supermarket, telling them he'd had trouble buying a packet of salmon, because it had no 'bar cod'.

Many companies find themselves floundering when it comes to their social media strategy, but representative David proved Sainsbury's Twitter use cod-n't be batter with an exchange that went swimmingly.

You'd expect the jokes to quickly wear a bit fin, but both sides managed to keep the to-and-fro going for well over an hour.

Some have suggested the exchange was a PR setup, but copywriter Martin maintains there's "nothing fishy" going on.
