[new_royalslider id=”312″]

It has become a tradition that on Christmas Day the Los Angeles Lakers play in one of the handful of games played on December 25. This year appears no different with the team rumored to face the Chicago Bulls on Christmas Day.

But, this year it looks like the team will be hopping on a plane, according to Brett Pollakoff of NBC Sports:

The NBA picking the Bulls as the Lakers’ opponent for the holiday game isn’t all that surprising. With Pau Gasol now in Chicago and Carlos Boozer wearing purple and gold next season, the Bulls were an obvious choice. The Houston Rockets were also talked about as a potential opponent for the Lakers with Jeremy Lin being traded to Los Angeles and Kobe Bryant having yet to face former teammate Dwight Howard.

Along with the Lakers taking on the Bulls in Chicago, a few other matchups have been leaked for December 25.

The Los Angeles Clippers will take on the Golden State Warriors in what is becoming one of the more heated rivalries in the league. LeBron James’ Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Miami Heat in perhaps the most obvious matchup for Christmas Day and Phil Jackson’s New York Knicks will go up against John Wall and the Washington Wizards.
