KEYPORT – Intoxicated drivers on Route 36 will run a high risk of getting caught between 11 tonight and 3 a.m. Saturday as Keyport police and the Monmouth County DWI Task Force will conduct a checkpoint by the Stop & Shop, authorities said.

Officers at the checkpoint will be pull vehicles from the southbound lanes of Route 36 into the parking lot to check for signs of alcohol and or drug use, said Brielle Police Chief Michael W. Palmer, the task force coordinator.

New Jersey’s DUI laws say a driver caught with a blood-alcohol level of 0.08 percent or higher is under the influence.
