ASRock Reveals Fatal1ty X99X Killer Motherboard

ASRock has officially revealed their upcoming Fatal1ty X99X Killer Motherboard. This board is much like the Fatal1ty Z97 Killer that we recently reviewed. Being a Fatal1ty motherboard you know that it is targeted towards gamers.

ASRock Fatal1ty X99X Killer

The Fatal1ty X99X Killer motherboard will feature the Intel LGA 2011-3 socket which supports Intel’s upcoming Haswell-E HEDT processors. The board features the same black and red color design that we have seen on previous ASRock Fatal1ty motherboards. There are three large heatsinks on the motherboard, the two that cover the power delivery components are interconnected with a heatpipe for even better cooling.

The Fatal1ty X99X Killer will feature a beefy 12 phase all digital power design. The power delivery components are made up of super ferrite core chokes and NexFet MOSFETs. You can also see many Nichion 12K Platinum capacitors throughout the motherboard. These offer 20% longer lifespans and provide more stability and reliability than your typical capacitors found on motherboards. Surrounding the CPU socket are 8 DDR4 DIMM slots (4 on each side) and they are color-coded for quad channel operation.

For expansion slots you have three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots which means you can do 3-way SLI and CrossFire setups without any problems. There are also two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots. For storage there are 10 SATA 6GB/s ports, an Ultra (PCIe x4) M.2 slot and there are two USB 3.9 headers towards the center of the board.

The board will also feature the Purity Sound 2 audio solution that offers its own PCB isolation for less interference. Networking is taking care of with the Killer E2200 chip and there is also an Intel NIC on board. Other features visible on this motherboard is power and reset buttons, a debug LED and Fatal1ty gaming port.

Expect to see this board and ASRock’s other X99 motherboards launch at the end of this month!
