Mountain Steel acquired by Drake-Williams

Drake-Williams Steel said Wednesday it has acquired Mountain Steel and Supply Co. of Denver.

Both companies are steel fabricators. Drake-Williams, a 129-year-old Omaha-based company, has a location in Aurora.

Mountain Steel has about 30 employees. Drake-Williams said that “key” Mountain Steel employees and equipment will be moved to Drake-Williams’ Aurora plant, and the local operation will be known as “Drake-Williams Steel - Mountain Steel Division.”

Terms were not disclosed.

“Drake-Williams, with over 250,000 square feet of production area in Omaha, is a traditional player in the large project steel market,” a company statement said. “The Mountain Steel Division will result in an enterprise that also serves the small project market as well as offering the products and services of a steel service center.”
