Russian soldiers are arriving in Luhansk and Donetsk regions to replace the militants, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has reported.

“In the majority of the populated areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions professional Russian soldiers are coming to replace the militants, and they’re not concealing their affiliation to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation,” NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said in Kyiv on Sept. 1.

He said that troops with identification signs of the Russian Armed Forces have been sighted.

“They organize and control the corridors of the military equipment supplies and modern armaments to Ukraine,” he said.

Lysenko reported that the situation in the anti-terrorist operation’s area in Donetsk and Luhansk regions remains tense.

“The situation in Mariupol is worsening because of blockading of Novoazovsk by the terrorists and Russian troops,” the spokesman said.
