BOOKMAKERS have slashed the odds on Prince Harry getting engaged to Meghan Markle this year after the couple reportedly enjoyed a romantic break to see the Northern Lights.

News that the love-struck pair, pictured, had cuddled up under the Aurora Borealis prompted Ladbrokes to slash the odds of a 2017 proposal from 3/1 to 4/6, with a 2/1 chance of the couple actually marrying within the next 12 months.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “As far as the odds are concerned it’s a case of when, and not if, Prince Harry pops the question to Meghan.”

The betting frenzy followed reports that Harry, 32, whisked his 35-year-old girlfriend to the edge of the Arctic Circle for their first holiday together last week.
