Two women killed in Holmesburg shooting

Police are investigating a shooting in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia that left two women dead Saturday night.

Police said shots rang out shortly after 5:30 p.m. inside a home on the 4700 block of Vista Street.

The two victims, described only as women in their 50s, were each shot once in the head, according to investigators. Medics pronounced them dead shortly before 6 p.m.

No weapon was recovered from the scene, police said.

There wasn't yet word on a motive Saturday night, and no arrests had been reported.
