Police locate female driver who crashed car into house in Oshawa

TORONTO – Durham Regional Police have located the female driver of a vehicle that crashed into a house in Oshawa early Friday morning.

Police say the 25-year-old from Whitby was “found walking in downtown Oshawa in good health.” She is in custody and charges are pending.

Officers were called at around 1:17 a.m. to 207 Bloor Street West to find a Pontiac Sunfire smashed into a home.

The vehicle also hit a gas line which then sparked a fire.

Cory Gallacher was inside the house with his wife and 2-year-old daughter when he heard a loud boom.

“I turned on my air conditioning. I went back to bed and the next thing you know — thunder,” he said. “I swore I thought the train derailed.”
