Facebook’s New Personalized Feature

Facebook’s New Personalized Feature

Ad Blocking on Facebook

Facebook has a new internet strategy based around the avoidance of digital ads. By the end of 2016, 72.09 billion dollars will be spent by advertisers on digital ads. People are not on social to see ads, but we all know they are everywhere we look. Thankfully this social media platform is now trying to change your user experience when it comes to ads.

Facebook Wants You Happy

Facebook is trying to keep up with the personalized experience that everyone is now offering to their users. Bad ads do exactly the opposite. Now with this new internet strategy, you will have the chance to personalize your ad experience. Facebook is really trying to up their game by listening to their users. The new update will also provide a block to the majority of ads.

If You Like Ads

As mentioned before, Facebook is trying to improve their internet strategy for everyone. If you like ads, and you do not want to miss out on something new, this update is also for you. The update will allow you to personalize your digital advertising experience so that all of the ads that you see pertain to you. Now advertisements will only enhance your online experience. There is always a chance that ads can provide useful information to us, and show us new products that we were not aware of.

If You Do Not Like Ads

Facebook’s internet strategy addition also makes it easy for you to change the types of ads that you see. With this new feature, you have the ability to check all interests that you like or dislike. Another dislike around advertisements is the companies that have retained your information and added you to a potential customer list. If you are like many who do not like ads, then there is a possibility that you have an ad-block software, which has been a great option. Currently, 10% of adults in the United States use some form of ad-block software.

What the New Update Will Address

The new update is very complex in its inner workings. The update blocks ads that are considered disruptive. With the new internet strategy, Facebook is striving to show people only ads that are not considered a problem. Even with an ad-blocking software, Facebook will look to show you ads that you might find interesting.

Facebook Taking the Higher Road

Many companies are making money by being paid to show blocked ads to its users, Facebook is not using their new internet strategy for this purpose. Facebook is putting the option out there so the users of its platforms can make the decision for themselves. Overall the thought is that people will have a much better online experience without the presence of disruptive ads, as well as the chance to have a more personalized experience.
