Truck Driver App: Postagram

Published:

Postagram, the mobile app from Sincerely downloadable to any Smartphone with a camera and wifi, turns your photos into tangible postcards you can mail directly from your phone for $.99.

The process is paid by advertisers, which allows users to send personalized, visually appealling postcards to anyone in the U.S, Canada or Europe from anywhere in the world without spending a single penny.

No longer do travelers have to warn their postcard recipients it may be weeks, or even months, before they get their postcard. With Postagram, your postcard will get to your recipient within 2-5 business days, and that’s the company’s promise.

Simply snap a photo using Postagram’s platform which will then be cropped to a square (think Instagram), or you can use photos from Instagram, Facebook or your camera’s roll. Then add a short message, limited to 180 characters. To indicate a recipient, the app can scan your address book, or you can add it manually. Your loved one will have a tangible gift, and you don’t have to tell them it was free.

This personal touch may be especially meaningful to those friends and family who may not be active in the online world of Facebook, Twitter or any other spot on the web you typically show off photos from your travels.

A drawback for some, is that the company changed its privacy policy in October 2013, allowing the disclose of users’ personal information to direct marketing companies.

Partners in the deal include Coppertone and Hyatt House, which by advertising directly on the postcards make it possible for Postagram to offer free cards. Currently, users  pay 99 cents to mail these personal cards or $1.99 to ship worldwide.
