20 years of impact
Happy Anniversary, Oakvillegreen!
Twenty years ago a passionate group of Oakville residents banded together to protect greenspace against the threat of new development in North Oakville. Since then, Oakvillegreen has succeeded in projecting hundreds of acres of land, planted more than 35,000 trees, and connected 25,000 youth with nature.
Today the organization continues to advocate for the ongoing protection of greenspace, and encourages environmental awareness and urban forest stewardship through a variety of programs, including work to strengthen Oakville’s private tree protection bylaw, and the protection of many heritage trees.
