Senior Wednesday- A Largely Humorous Survey of Outhouses Then and Now

Wednesday, September 1, 2021 | 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

Join us this Wednesday, September 1, 2021 for our monthly Senior Wednesday. This month our topic is "A Largely Humorous Survey of Outhouses Then and Now," presented by Susan Crane-Laracuente! The talk will review some of the ways people, mostly Americans and including Kansans, have responded to the everlasting problem of how to manage human waste.

Susan Crane-Laracuente is Associate Professor of English at Newman University and teaches a variety of classes, mainly in English composition, literature, and Latin. Gardening, cooking, swimming, art, and reading fiction and non-fiction are among activities she enjoys, some in the company of a small herd of cats. She remains grateful for the astonishing array of technological inventions she has ready access to, including the flush toilet.

Choose from three ways to join the presentation:

In-person: Join us at the Museum for Deborah's live, in-person presentation! Face coverings are optional and social distancing will be required while in the Museum. No need to register — simply walk in! Coffee and tea, generously provided by The Spice Merchant - Wichita's Gourmet Coffee & Tea Roaster, and pre-packaged refreshments provided.
