The Georgia Department of Community Health (DCH) is one of Georgia's four health agencies serving the state's growing population of over 10 million people. DCH serves as the lead agency for Medicaid, oversees the State Health Benefit Plan (SHBP) and Healthcare Facility Regulation, impacting one in four Georgians.

 

Through effective planning, purchasing and oversight, DCH provides access to affordable, quality health care to millions of Georgians, including some of the state's most vulnerable and under-served populations. Six enterprise offices support the work of the agency’s three program divisions. DCH employees are based in Atlanta, Cordele and across the state. 

 

The Department of Community Health is seeking a qualified Senior Manager Business Operations for PeachCare for Kids.  The Senior Manager Business Operations will direct subordinate managers and staff in support, operational, and programmatic activities for the Department of Community Health Medical Assistance Plans, PeachCare for Kids Program.  This is a hybrid position that requires in-office and remote work with the approval of the supervisor.  The days and frequency in the office can change at any time during employment based on the business needs of the organization.

 



 

Job Responsibilities

Directs a diverse range of support, operational, and programmatic activities for DCH/Medical Assistance Plans, PeachCare for Kids® Program. Recommends and implements both State and Federal policies and procedures. Directs subordinate managers and staff. Review and verify all reporting in the Gateway and GAMMIS Systems. Ensure PCK Business Rules and Policies are updated in the appropriate systems.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges PeachCare for Kids® employees
• Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for PCK
• Conducts or participates in the development, review, revision, interpretation, and/or implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and both state and federal guidelines
• Coordinates compliance with rules, regulations, and policies • Review and verify all PCK reporting within Gateway and the GAMMIS Systems.
• Coordinates interaction between department, agency, and facility operating units, other programs and/or external customers regarding business rules and system changes. • Ensures efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of all functions through the use of computer systems, management controls, and sound organizational structure
• Oversees the development and on-going management of one or more programs or projects consistent with agency goals and objectives
• Participates in the planning, coordination, development and implementation of long-range goals and objectives for PeachCare for Kids® • Reviews and reports on the PCK budge

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Four years of experience managing professional level staff OR Eight years of related professional experience AND Four years managing at the level equivalent to area of assignment OR Four years of experience required at the lower level Mgr 2, Business Ops (GSM011) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications: In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, we are seeking applicants that demonstrate some or all the following skills/experience:
• Knowledge of the Medical Assistance Program with emphasis on PeachCare for Kids® Policy
• Experience in supervising/managing staff as well as team-building and delegating tasks
• Ability to analyze policy and update to be in compliance with new state and federal policy
• Ability to analyze reports and ensure compliance with regulations
